Topic: [78547] how much time does a defender get when being attacked

If you send an attack - how long is it before the attack is due to hit that the defender knows about it to move their defenses and resources?

It doesn't depend on the time, it depends on the distance; when they get a certain distance from you, you will know they are attacking. However, by using horses or faster troops, the time till arrival can be shorter or longer than anticipated.

The bigger the army that you sent, the sooner the enemy sees it.

Ok which of these is right, pretty sure it dosnt matter the size of the army

Any idea what the distance is? And what this equates to in minutes - i presume the time is calculated based upon the slowest moving unit.

So if someone attacks, at a set distance away of say 20 fields , the defender knows they are coming. If the travelling time for 20 fields is say 1 hour on foot, then the defender will get 1 hour to sort things. However, the defender may get caught out if the attacker has used horses for the attack as the attacking forces will arrive sooner (say 45 minutes).

Have I got the idea?

Mark.

It is actually not normally calculated in distance. Normally you just get a 46 minute warning with a big army of the size of 700. Then you get about 1:10 with watch tower. It also depends of the positions of your outposts too.

Yeah that's the idea.

It still depends on distance, just everyone with that many troops probably can use the fastest horses, so the time is almost always the same.

There is a watch tower

build it, u get more time to response

upgrade it, u get further time to response

no idea..whether it is calcualted as distance or time

but there is no warning sounds ( my speaker is already down, no sound fo rme)
but u can c enemy in "travel overview" and "world"

but u have to watch periodly

Actually not. I remember a tip that I got from completing a mission or the in misson tip: 'Remember the bigger the attacking army, the sooner it is seen by the defender.' Not in those words, but that was what my military advisor said to me. It does not depend completely on the size of the army, distance counts too, but the size helps.

That could be true, I mean that's even true in real life.

The size of the army count it is written somewhere in the forum.... don't ask me where
So yep it has to do with the distance and the size of the army. If the defender has a watch tower he will see it coming sooner
