The bakery is the absolute best thing to purchase with rubies.
Get the bakery.

Completely agree with BlackDrgn, the bakery is THE best value for rubies you can get in this game. That 10% reduction in food consumption will be huge later down the road.
EDIT: Oh yeah, upgrading your bakery will also cost rubies: 6,250 for a level 2, not sure what the costs are for levels 3 and 4.

All 4 levels of the bakery require rubies.

But yes, you should DEFINITELY buy a bakery. Now, there are some rare sales that about about once a month for 90 minutes. They half the cost of anything bought with rubies. So if you are patient and active enough, you can reduce that bakery cost to 625 rubies and buy it then. Or, the other alternative is to buy it whenever you've get a free slot. It depends on your personality.

The bakery decreases your food consumption by 10%. I consider it to be the best building in the entire game. I'll do the math and show you why:

Let's assume a production of 1000 food in your main castle. The strongest troops consume 4 food per hour. That's 250 troops. With a bakery level 1, the strong troops consume only 3.6 food each. Using a calculator, this means that you can get 277 troops into that castle with 2.8 extra food production per hour. That's an extra 10.8% (I think).

By level 2, you can stuff an extra 62.5 troops into that castle, or an extra 25%.

amazing responses guys,well am a patient man..I think I will just keep building those rubies up by hitting those RBCs until there is a sale on to get the upgrade at 625 rubies.

By the way another question in the question

how many units on an average are required to hit level 20 barbarian tower??

is it absolutely necessary to espionage the barbarian tower because RBC level 1 are pretty easy to take down.

i am talking about a combination of maces and crossbows here.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that the defenders in a level 20 barbarian tower are melee units.
Even with heavy crossbows, and canceling out the bonuses I still lost around 20%-30% of my units.
Crossbows and maces won't help that much in Everwinter.

I agree you need much heavier units to defeat the norsemen,I would recommend desert renegades.

so this means that I gotta get my barracks to level 5 and then attack the barbarian towers not before that??

Either that, or you wait until you have reached level 39 and gone through the long and costy process of unlocking veteran troops.

Two handed swords from the level 4 barracks would work,but they are very weak against melee defenders.

guys,as I can see am surrounded by Steel guys and no food villages left near me..how can I even think of making an army in winter glacier??

so basically I take the food village say 150 squares away and start making an army there or make crop tiles there and what if someone snatches that from me?I mean there is no way my defense army can reach on time 150 squares away if someone big or even level 40 is around me to take that Outpost.

how can one really enjoy this game if someone did not start months back..i Am really on the mercy of the people bigger than me..is it not?

Find some villages. If they're a long way away, then that's not ideal, but it should work. Get your alliance to send support if you're under attack and defend the village well enough anyway. And I've noticed that unless you take a village from an active player (which you shouldn't - there's plenty of inactives with food villages if you look hard enough), you very rarely get attacked. Lots of people are just too scared to try to take a village, for fear of retaliation.

If you have and 8 food or 6 food out post buy a bakery for it then after that for your main no high levels actually capture ouposts because they already have the maximum of three if any one does capture it which is unlikely you
could easily get it back from a low level that captures it. if you wait for the 50% less rubie cost thing you could also get a drill ground too.

Bakery is The best. I'm saving up to have it at all of my Outposts. If your going to have a huge army, hitting folk, you have to expect them to hit you back. if they can't hit your main base, they will hit your outposts, and it can be hard support a large Def force while sending out all your food to feed your attackers.

Bakery is super awesome you should get it, and yes leveling up Bakery does use rubies

[1406102] [Deleted User] [None] :: Oct. 20, 2012, 1:25 p.m.
The ruby costs for bakeries are as follows:

level 1-1250 rubies
level 2-6500 rubies
level 3-12500 rubies
level 4-13000 rubies

Hope this helps.

If you send like 160 macemen and crossbowmen at these towers, around half of them will die against 20 barbarians.

[1406115] mihajlo97 [None] :: Oct. 20, 2012, 1:47 p.m.
dont take it yet wait until you get the -50% of every thing you can buy with rubies then youll only pay 625 for the bakery
