When defending, if you had 100 defenders, and a 30 attack coming, and I take 15 losses, would I take less if I had 200 defenders?

Yes, but only if those 200 take part in the battle and aren't in the keep for example (unless the battle is in the keep, It was just an example).

Glad to help

also, that applies when attacking, that is why the strategy for attacking Barbarian fortresses (again as an example) is attacking the middle and left, and taking the right flank in the keep with more soldiers than you could possibly send in a wave.

So in other words, try to pile as many in the keeps while maintaning the 30% bonus as attacker? So take the left, right and middle, to gain that bonus and wipe the remaining out in the keep?

Well at least with the fortress is not that way, it is attacking the middle, and the left only, and battle the right flank at 0% of power in the keep, but with more soldiers = more power = less casualties.
With another player of course you will always want to win all the sections.

Battle conducted in 2 place

A. wall- left flank, fronter and right Flank
B. courtyard if any enemy soldier pass thro' left flank, right flank or fronter

For wall
soldier allocated in wall are a fixed, you cannot increase the amount of soldier by more soldiers
you can only upgrade tower and wall to allow more allocation

if seems confuse ...
For expample
If your wall can allow 100 defender soldiers there, that is the maximum soldier u can place on wall
if you provide 200 supporting soldier from outpost or your ally member, they a only position in courtyard

I have no idea whether they refill after waves..i mean u loss some in enemy wave 1, i do not know whether it will refill to maximum when enemy wave 2 hit ...etc

However, that 100 defender soldier maximum can be increased ( e.g. upgrade your tower )

so your question

answer is "no change during the battle in wall"

answer is "it help to reduce loss during the battle in courtyard becos that is where your excess army are located"

answer is "no change if no enmey pass thro your left and right flank and fronter becos there is no battle in couryard"

it depends on the soldier type you provided and the wall-tactic

depends on soldier type (do not use attacking soldier to defend your wall )
if u see enemy soldier are attacking with melee soldier, u change to defend with range defender, your loss will be reduced becos melee soldier has lesser range defense strenght

wall tactic (very complex in there )
u provide right tools... e.g. flamming arrow...add tar..etc in right location
or even change 0-0-100 or 50-50-0..any combination that help u to gain advantage in battle...

That is not true, in the wall, the same applies as in the keep, if you have more soldiers, you will have less casualties, try it on robber baron's with equal flanks.

there is difference in the battle in courtyard becos he has another 100 defending soldier in there

but in wall
enemy handle the same 100 defender soldier only
so i presume ..the result are the same becos he cannot add defending soldier in wall

is my understanding incorrectly ??

He is not talking about that, he is asking if in a battle if you had 15 loses with 100 defenders, it is possible to have less casualties with more defenders

Yes, I am talking about, if I had 100 defenders in 1 battle, and I took 15 losses, if I had 200 defenders (which I can fit on my walls) would I take less losses? Jade answered yes, as long as they are on the wall. I believe that is so. Now would the same go for the keep? I would assume so since the more on the walls, would decrease losses
