When I try to open the game, the log-in screen shows up. I enter user name and password and then the game is stuck on the loading screen saying 'sharpening swords...' and after ~10 minutes says the server can't be reached. Then the process repeats.
This happens at work where I am behind a proxy, could this be the problem? The game starts to load after all...

Same issue here. Browser cash cleared. Flash player cash cleared. Two different browsers tried. System restarted. Again with the same result: freezes on the login screen after entering login. In case Refresh is clicked after 10-20 minutes of waiting then proceeds to the "sharpening swords" stage and no further.
Same situation for two days now after the last game update. I expect that my army has deserted far ago due to the lack of food...

When this happens to me I repeatedly try re-loading every time it gets stuck on sharpening swords, usually it eventually loads properly.
As you are both on the same server (it may be a server issue) I would recommend messaging support, which you've probable already done.

Me too, same problem, logs in and gets stuck on sharpening the swords. Seriously, how long does it take for them to make a sword sharp?

Who ? I bet nobody actually broke through. no one has taken the capitals, US1 and WW2 are available. I saw them in there both were at 657 657 in each world. And they belonged to nobody. So stop this nonsense.

same here!!its been more than 20 days and i cant login.ive sent ticket to support.and sometimes i was able to login once in 5 or 6 days luckily.ive been more on the forum these 20 days than playing the game:(.

Have you tried clearing the cache? If you don't know how to do that, just say.

As aidan952 has stated, please try clearing your cache. If this does not solve the issue, you could try using a different browser or restarting your router. Let me know if this works!

Just to clarify, this was not a browser issue - many players had the same problem, and then after a while, everyone got back in. This was a server problem. Another waste of our time by GGS...

So for the last hour I haven't been able to login. I've tried multiple browsers, cleared the browser cache, cleared the Flash cache, restarted my pc several times and still stuck on the loading screen. I am incredibly annoyed as it seems I have just wasted 40000 food throwing a Kings Feast, but I am unable to recruit!!!!!!!!

Am having this exact problem so perfect time for a necro. Have cleared both system and flash cache, reinstalled the flash player, reset router and modem, and ran full system scan. Anybody out there have any other ideas?
