You can either abandon them, sell them or give them to your alliance members.

It's not a bug. Everyone is the same. Nobody loses any villages, instead if one is taken from you and you still have 5 or more you can't take it back. For the time being you should have increased production.

Yeah Baldrick is right it is not a bug. You should hold onto them as long as you can and enjoy the significant production of resources/food.

yes on other server i have mighty production right now.
what a fail, now i can have over 3000 soldiers and i could bully even more newbies if i want, because they can only have 5, especially if they try to get any of my RVs.
nice own goal, at ggs they are not fixing bugs, they create even more. and i can guarantee this alchemist event will be full of bugs as well.

yes just send extra troops into your villages and u can have a 2x bigger army then the others who just arrive to winterland

This is not a bug! they said ahead of time they weren't going to forcefully take villages from players and those who worked hard and have more than 5 of a type will get to keep them as long as they can hold on to them.
HOWEVER, anyone with more than 5 will not be able to capture any more villages. This means once you lose them you are capped at your remaining amount over 5 per type. If you ever fall below 5 you will be able to get back to 5.
