My problem is slightly different...I frequently do not get credit for my QUESTS when I defeat robber baron castles (i.e. in Iceland). I know I am not supposed to receive loot, etc, but I AM supposed to receive credit toward the QUESTS. for the record, my attacks in each case are both successful AND of the level identified on the QUEST.

Barbarian fortresses ("ice RBCs") do not count towards the series of quests in The Great Empire.
The problem of quests not updating quickly is a well known bug. Just wait a few days and it should update then. If not, contact support.

Thanks Bob. Unfortunately the terminology used throughout different parts of the game are ambiguous. My particular quest in Iceland reads, "robber baron castles level 21 or higher defeated." As a result, I would expect to receive credit (in Iceland) for a defeat of a level 21 barbarian tower, correct?" Frequently, doesn't happen...
Also, Bob can you tell me if we are supposed to receive experience points for accomplishments in Iceland? I get experience points for building upgrades, resource village occupations, etc in The Burning Sands. Why not in Iceland? Don't get me wrong, I did get experience point credit in Iceland for a handful of things when I first arrived to Iceland, but have received nothing in many, many days except for the emperor always requesting donations. Is there nothing else to do in Iceland? If it is merely about emperor donations that do me no good, why bother? Besides all resources are always owned by the huge alliances anyway.

For the quests in Everwinter Glacier, you don't get XP past level 41. Although I don't like this, it is supposed to be to encourage people to join Burning Sands.
I actually like the emperor donations. They give me 10 rubies for only a few thousand coins (I have more than enough anyway) and a few thousand resources (I produce enough to complete 1 donation quest per 5 hours, although seeing as you only get 2 per level I don't actually get many rubies or spend that much).
But you can gain honour and glory in Everwinter. You can get another castle and something more to do. You can get MILLIONS of rubies from fortresses, rubies from barbarian fortresses, and mostly importantly, MILLIONS of rubies from fortresses. You can raise another army, get more things to do and get MILLIONS of rubies from fortresses (sorry, but it's worth repeating because it really is a great way to get rubies).
Take those resource villages - they don't just pop up next to your castle. Now the limit is 5, you should be able to get close to that amount. There is always one or two owned by a player who is in a smaller alliance, or owned by a player whose alliance is too far away. I am not even level 50, and have 3 food villages. You just need to try hard enough.
I think you also get XP from attacking/building in Everwinter.

Thanks Bob, for this helpful information. By the way, I really enjoy your Homer Simpson quote.
