Man, this was my childhood game. I played GoodGame Empire from the ages ~10-14
After quitting a few years ago, due to the game becoming more and more PVE, I have been addicted to many other games. But GoodGame Empire is the ultimate nostalgia trip. I learned so much about life playing this game. At ten years old, I was able to interact and work with mature adults, which most kids don't have the chance to do.
Thinking back, I was probably a HUGE pain in the butt for everyone who knew me. I couldn't follow rules, I constantly screwed up, and I just couldn't keep myself from stealing those juice 8:2 food outposts full of ruby buildings.
I started my own alliance, and after learning that there was only 15 (I think) player slots, I found an empty alliance with inactive players and I hacked (guessed the easy password) of the leaders inactive account. So I got myself a free maxed out alliance, 65 player slots.
Next, I got to work building my alliance. My peak was 2.8 million power points.
I played on US1, and at one point I got myself into a war with a big alliance called "Bad Company." My alliance was no match for them, so I did the only obvious thing....I hacked (again, guessed the easy password) of one of their members named Anonymous (decided to censor his name). He had the rank general in their alliance, so I could have kicked about 25 players out of their alliance, the normal members and sergeants or whatever they were called. But I was a dumb 12 year old. So instead, I started attacking and sabotaging the strongest player on the server (Negan) in hopes to spark a war between the alliances and get the heat away from my alliance. This failed miserably and I got (Anonymous') account kicked out of Bad Company. His alliance knew that someone had hacked his account, and when I sent them a message saying "I am Anonymous. I got hacked but now I have my account back" they asked me a "security question." The question was "What is your IRL career?"
Now, during this time, Anonymous' alt account sent me a message asking me to please give back his account. I sent his this:
"I will return your account, but I need to make sure it is really you. What is your career?"
He told me his career, I told his alliance his career, I got back into Bad Company.
By this time, I realized that with the rank "general," I could kick out their members. Unfortunately, since I had been kicked out and rejoined, I did not have the rank anymore. Eventually I logged off for the night and when I woke up, I had been kicked out again. Anti climactic.
I ended up giving Anonymous back his account, because I wasn't a total dick, and everyone ended up happy.
I forgot to mention that the guy I hacked was level 70/350. My personal account was level 50 or 60 and I was free to play.
That's my story, hope you enjoyed it. It's fun to remember the old GGE times.

Kinda sent me on a mini nostalgia trip of Moshi Monster when I was about 10, I guessed the password to a person with my real life name, as their user name. The password was, Password1 :P
