I just started playing and I want to move my castle near a friend who plays? How do you search for players and how do you relocate your castle?

Search: go to "World Map",than on the top of the screen is a spyglass,to the right type in your friends username.
Relocate: Click on the "Kings Market" (bottom left ruby bag),than click on the "other" (on the top),than find a relocating button (picture of bag's)...
I should work as a tutorial guide
I have explain this to my members 100 of times, even a child could understand,(never on ENG) and some how they meas up
So don't relocate if you aren't sure that you are relocating on the right position, you can always press "x" if you aren't sure... Because when you start your relocation it can't be stopped, and next time it will cost you rubies.

Currently the Ruby cost of moving your castle a second time is 5,000... I would like to see a tutorial on this as I had difficulty getting my castle to move where I wanted it... I selected a spot and had a message sent, but when the delay time had expired I went to do the move and someone else (looked like a brand new player) was there! (I attempted the move within minutes of the delay expiration.) Since I was working on setting up an alliance and all, I needed to get to that region immediately, so I had to hunt and choose a spot that was available without any delays. I missed some important information regarding the region around where I moved to, and was very disappointed with that process and the location that I ended up in. I will not spend 5,000 rubies to move again however!

I suggest, that you set up your alliance on position you right now if there is a lot of free space and OP in area,so you can expend. Because if you move again it will cost you a small price of 5000 rubies, which can be better put to use in upgrading you alliance. But if you ever wanted to relocate for the 3th time,it will cost you 20 000 rubies. So save your relocation in a time of need

Good to know Frenack - 20000 rubies seems like an awful steep price... I kinda get the idea that they don't want players bouncing around all over the place, but the fact that I couldn't figure out why the spot that I chose (even though it did still say ruins when I tried to click after the expiration) was not available when the time came to initiate the move.
I did go ahead and setup my alliance where I ended up - not the most ideal location - but I believe I can make it work. I did get close enough to a friendly alliance that I think it will help insulate us a little bit anyway.
