I realize that many of you have been doing this a very long time, and may look down on those of us "newbies". Flying in the face of danger, I hoped someone would take pity upon on old bird and perhaps give me a little bit of help. All I need is a translation.
You see, I see a lot of this:
And I have no idea who AoD and misc and DT and KoN and..
Where can a Newbie go to find all of the things she needs to play this game well? Is there a HEY NEWBIE! OVER HERE! thread? A ' This is a break down of the Alliances and their subs, for the most part' thread? (I know, they are always changing. It would be nice if there was a website that could track all of that so we could look it up in real time, like EQU (http://u.eq2wire.com/) for Everquest2.)
What I'm asking is, would someone PLEASE tell an old lady where she can get a translation of all of the Alliances, and maybe, perhaps, who belongs to whom.

time, skill, money, patience... nothing you do as a newb will impact you much in endgame unless you go the corestorm route and dump a couple grand into speed leveling and hit endgame early. If you are non ruby buyer you've got about 4 months before most of it has any long term impact on whether you are a decent player.

Oh my! Thank you, therealsporer! That was an insightful, in-depth and wise look into the "how-to" for the newbie's newbie.
It did not, however, answer, in any way, the question that I asked. Just to refresh your memory, here it is again.
That being said, IS there a place, perhaps a former thread, that has the Alliances WITH all of their Subs? Yes, I could go Alliance to Alliance, and read each and every description, but then, I could also go play Fashion.
Is there someone who knows if this info is out there, and if so, where it is?

Hey there Justice, I highly doubt a thread like that exists (much less the real time thing as in everquest 2), as the game is just too big if you wanted the info for ALL the alliances. Perhaps browsing around you might get the "big" alliances and their "subs" info in a thread, but not of every single alliance of the game.
Also this game is a mess, every war a "big alliance" might lose subs, other will be renamed etc... any info you will get will probably be really outdated in just a few weeks or even days (when there are "server wars"). It also depends of the server you are in, the USA 1 for example is one of the biggest servers in the game.

Finding information about the game can be difficult - threads often lead nowhere.
