I have been trying to find information on how to merge alliances. Are there certain protocols and procedures? What are the pros and cons, etc.? I have attempted to find this through advanced searches of the forums but I have not found any useful information, so any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

Its best if both alliances agree to honour each others pacts and NAA's. One alliance will then become the main one while the 2nd alliance will be cherry picked of the best players and will then become a feeder or training wing to the 1st. Its also worth negotiating with the new 'main' alliance what ranks each player will get once they move over.
If you both agree to this, notify ALL leaders you both have agreements with to notify them of the changes

No, you can't move alliance funds

No, once you donate resources under no circumstances can you get them back, you can only donate. If you are leader you can donate and make purchases, seen under the alliance funds.
