When an alliance member sends another member soldiers to defend his castle, are the soldiers gone or do the survivors come back after the battle like they do on an attack)?
If up to the castle owner, how does the castle defender know which soldiers belong to whom? Are they on loan, or does it require the castle owner to send them back or the one loaning have to make a request? Or like on an attack, will they come back on their own?
Sorry if this is a repeated thread, but all my searches have failed.

When you want to support another member it will allow you 3 options about how long the soldiers should stay there.
a) 1 hour
b) 6 hours
c) 12 hours
You can loose them all however survivors will come back to your castle/outpost.
The member getting soldiers won't see them on the defense menu, the support soldiers will automaticly be placed in the keep or on the walls if there is more space or they will replace any unit that is weaker than them.
They will still consume food from your castle under this time period. Once you have sent the support units and they have arrived, you can't call them back untill the timer expires.
The one getting support can't see the units in the castle but they can see if their castle is supported because there will appear a tent representing a camp meaning that they are supported.'
Hope this helps

Thanks Ante55. Your explanation answered all my questions. Only other question I have -- CAN I SEND MY PRINCE?! That's a rhetoric question. Thanks again.

Actually you can send the support back anytime, just go to the travel overview and click on the white flag button.
