Topic: [89748] The Crusaders Hereby adopt a Formal Charter of Alliance

[-89748] BerserkKestrel [None] :: May 1, 2013, 6:29 p.m.
The Crusaders Alliance has recently come under close scrutiny and judgment regarding its leadership and organization. As all alliances know, it takes time to find the right mix of leadership and membership to make things work.
The time has come for The Crusaders to Adopt a Formal Charter, a declaration of what it means to be a Crusader, what our intentions are, and how we shall conduct our affairs now, and going forward into the future.

Alliance Membership Rules:
The Crusaders are always looking for active players who want a friendly alliance to be part of, and we will consider all applications of players level 20 or higher who are willing to abide by our Charter. Please direct all inquiries of membership to our leader, Alexander-Great, via in-game message.

You must try to maintain an orange status or better, daily check-ins are preferred. We understand that we all have real lives, so just communicate your schedule. If you are going to be absent for longer than 48 hours, notify a general or post in chat. If you fall into the red, you will receive a warning message. After 24 hours of falling into red status, the rest of the alliance is no longer under obligation to attempt a defense of your castle. After 72 hours of falling into red status, you may face expulsion from the alliance.
You must make a weekly contribution to the alliance of any resource or gold, rubies are optional. Please donate what you can, there is no minimum, just donate something!
You must continue to grow your castle, as well as maintain or improve your honor and glory rating as much as possible. If you come under attack, we will do our best to protect you, and you must do the same for your fellow alliance members.

Rules of Engagement:
Your attacks are your own business, but it is required that you make all of your attacks visible to the rest of the alliance. It is also advised that you refrain from attacking the same castle multiple times over a period of 3 days. We are a peaceful alliance, and we cannot maintain that status if we are accused of being bullies by smaller players. Please keep track of your actions. For the most part, attacks are considered a player versus player matter.
If you are contacted directly by a player to cease attacks, please honor their request if they ask politely. If you are retaliated upon, you will be defended as much as possible, but consider it to be the same thing as a request to cease hostilities. If a complaint is received by leadership regarding your actions, you will be advised and warned. Attacks on outposts are discouraged, grow a pair and attack a main castle. This does not apply to RV’s in other worlds, as they are rare and intended to be fought over.

Acts of War by other players may include the following:
Capture attempts by any player upon another player’s outpost, multiple attacks from the same player in a 3-day period, multiple attacks from the same alliance on any player in a 3-day period, and abuse via the messaging system in-game. Please report any such actions by an enemy player or alliance to leadership, and Diplomatic Solutions will ensue.

Diplomatic Solutions include the following:
An in-game message to the guilty party of an Act of War to cease hostilities or suffer the consequences, an in-game message to an alliance leader regarding Acts of War by their alliance members, a forum post on the Empire forum to announce an Act of War and any attempts at resolution thereof.

Declarations of War:
Should Diplomatic Solutions fail, players guilty of Acts of War will be subject to suspension of the Rules of Engagement. Single players may be subject to multiple attacks over a 72-hour period by our entire alliance, and their alliance leaders (if a member of an alliance) will be notified of such action. Should an enemy alliance interfere, they may be subject to a Declaration of War.
Declarations of War shall be announced via in-game message a minimum of 12 hours prior to changing the alliance Diplomatic Status. Additionally, a forum message shall be posted regarding the reason for war at the same time. Upon the changing of Diplomatic Status on the alliance page, all players of an enemy alliance are subject to attack until the war is resolved to satisfaction of all involved. Once a resolution has occurred, an alliance message will be sent, and cessation of hostilities is expected to occur immediately. A short timeframe of leniency will be allotted to account for any attacks currently underway.

All alliance members, current or prospective, are expected to abide by the above rules, as well as to expect such behavior from enemy players. Members who perform Acts of War upon enemy players will be subject to a warning and may face expulsion from the alliance.
Happy Gaming!
