I am newish,and want to know if theres a certain formula to attack waves being sent. In protaining to nomad camps I been loseing over 1/2 of my troops only hitting lvl30's.I only have access to 3 waves,so 1st wave should be what type soldier, 2nd wave, and 3rd wave ? I would think there should be a way to take less losses

What most people like to do is send the first wave with all ranged and full with manlets, this way, it will reduce the ranged defenders' combat strength to 0%, then it will just be ranged against melee, which means an easy win for the ranged attackers, after that on the first wave, you can send whatever you want because those soldiers will be just for looting.

ok so your saying a 1st wave is best to send crossbowman and then 2nd wave say heavy crossbowman and 2handswords ?

No, You'll want to send your strongest ranged soldiers on the first wave, if you have enough manlets to reduce the ranged defense to 0%. If you don't, then you will want to send some melee there too.
