what is moat? what items affect moat besides commanders equipment?

Hi,
A moat is a defensive item that you can place around your castle.
You can buy the resource one, which gives you a 10% bonus, or a ruby one what costs 12,500 rubies and gives you a 20% bonus. (At level 70 you can upgrade your res moat but do not know the increase, but my guess is it adds ~14% bonus).
You can purchase tools for your moat, the best one is an armourer tool called the fire moat which improves defence by 110%. You can then buy a ruby tool (swamp snappers) which adds an extra 80% to your moat. The other defensive tool available is the wooden spikes, which adds a defensive bonus of 35%.
The moat increases the overall stats of your defenders and adds an extra layer of protection to your castle. The moat can be crossed using moat tools.
The moat tools that can be used to cross the moat are;
The wooden bundle which reduces 5% of the moat defence. The attackers can also use and assault bridge (which costs rubies ) which reduces the moat defence by 10%. I cannot remember if there is an armourer tool that reduces the moat protection.
