You get one free one, but other than that you have to buy rubies after clicking an offer that offers them in exchange for buying rubies.

I love people that play this game that say I will not buy rubies on principal. How do you think they pay for the server, how do you think they upgrade the game, You think they just pour money into it from thin air.
Yes I do think they are greedy but any good game you usually have to pay for and I like buying rubies over paying 19.99 a month for a game.
Like I said though, GGE is very very greedy.

If you don't loot it is understandable because you can get ~2.5k rubies if you are active and loot good.No ruby players no game so buck up.

they sent out an email to everyone on the day they launched the update. there was a link to collect a free one. ^^
