Hey, gang.
I think the people familiar to the forum know how I was introduced into the community. I had an issue with an entire alliance that was attacking me relentlessly. I learned a lot from that experience and now I am gonna help out people with similar issues.
Here are some tips on how to survive:
1. Being in an active alliance is very helpful. They can help you recruit troops quickly. I recommend building one unit at a time - This is the most for your money! Once you get the alliance help, you will be getting 2 troops for the price of one. It is better than 6 for the price of 5.
2. Low level units are actually more effective than they seem. Spearmen can be an effective force - at least enough to kill SOME units which leads to less fire!
3. Talk to some guys. You came to the right place, honestly, but I would suggest going more direct. Find a bigger alliance near you and tell them about the issue - A lot of big alliances will help you out. They like peace in the region.
(Added from Manatee - Thanks, Good points here)
If you approach some of the big players near you, do so for advice, not just to beg for help. Chances are the player will offer that advice, or direct you to a friend who knows more.
The key though, is taking that advice and using it. Maybe even follow up with the person later to boast how far you've come and to ask if there are any other tips they can give you. "Expand those walls, build those towers, remove the extra dwellings, adjust the wall settings, etc." If you keep contact with them, and they see you take advice well, you've just separated yourself (in their eyes) from the hordes of dimwitted beggars who play this game seeking a free ride. It also shows them you're eager and active. Perhaps it will create an opening to join that alliance or a sub of theirs, or to forge alliance relations, etc
4. Sub-ing is a very real possibility! Try and find a midsized alliance and offer yours as a sub! It is always good to attempt this.
5. Consolidating power is one of the best possibilities for stopping bullies. Try and find an alliance who has enough extra spots for you and your alliance mates to join in. It makes everyone in the alliance stronger and there is almost no downside to it.
6. Try focusing on a single out-post. If you can gather all your units into one spot, you can launch a more effective counter force.
7. Ruby protection is a definite way of stopping it. Opening the gates or buying protection mode is expensive but it is worth it if the war gets really bad.
Above all?
8. Fire is pixels. Don't worry. Use the imaginary resources to get rid of them and keep playing.
Regards,
E

If they will outright help you, great! But I'd like to expand on this for something a little more helpful in the long run.

well according to him it was a first time offense, in his first go of storms, and i believe the offending "bullies" didnt out right spell out the rules of storm islands in their description, so its put under the honest mistake box. how many people do you burn non stop for a week because of a 1 time offense made due to ignorance of a player made rule?

Most of the fair play rules were made up so large alliances could pick on smaller ones for patheic reasons.
Large alliance- *gasps* did you see that? a level 6 just defeated one of our level 13 player's outposts. *declares war and rants to the leader of the level 6's alliance demanding 50% tribute* *gets told to deal with it*

i was having the same problem, and i start the same on the forum:
i was in a single player alliance and an alliance leader told me that shady lady come and they will attack me . i moved all the soldiers from mc and i told them to attack with less solderis for less damage. they started to hit me with 200 soldiers each and i was mad. i told them that i have one of them at shady so i wanted to attack and no reply. i attacked him and next morning i got the message: ''you made me to lose in honor rank. i will attack you everyday.'' war declaration and mass attacks on me. i told to a leader of an alliance to help me and he did nothing, he said that was their' sister alliance so he can't do anything for me against them + i had some problems and other alliances didn't want me there. i was attacked for a week .then i found an alliance wich was a sub of that leader that didn't help me and i stayed there some days. then i joined the main sub of that leader and after 2 months i am here in his main alliance! it's been a long road with obstacles, and all i need was to proove that leader that i am good for his alliance. now i am in the most powerfull alliance from my server. and i am proud for what i done. my advice: never give up, always exist a solution. if you get hitted too many times and you can't counter attack, wait until they will stop, they may get bored of you. and btw i was almost the same lvl with that player who started the war. now i am lvl 54 and he is inactive with lvl 35. so who's the winner here?

If you're being bullied, focus on the bully's rv's. They hate it when you take their rv's. It's like a punch in the mouth. If you don't have any rv's all the better. Build wolves because the bully is usually so arrogant that he only keeps one defender in his rv's. Use your wolves and take their rv's then drop them and contact near by castles to take them over or keep them yourself. Rv's are the weakness of bullies.

and that's the full story of how you cowardly used the fair play rules to pick on a whole alliance just because of one member...?

You're admitting to being a selfish coward. You should build your own alliance instead of picking fights and stealing from other alliances.
