I have 5 farm houses at level 10 and 2 farm houses at level 5. I have 75 soldiers and 310 population.

Yet there is food shortage. What is the cause and how to resolve it.

Is it a technical issue?

Food shortage is inevitable if you are holding a lot of troops, the idea is to use your soldiers and get food as loot, it is the most common method used by players globally

Other ways by which you can increase/improve your food production - 
-Increase your Public Order (by building or winning deco items in events, etc)
-Upgrade your Bakery
-Research (there's an feature in the research tower which increases food production by 20%,if I'm not wrong)
-Unlock the coat of arms which increases your food production
-Distribute your soldiers so that you can manage the food among your OPs/other kingdom castles
-By gaining point in Berimond and achieving certain titles gives you a production bonus, same stands for the Storm Island (except that your alliance wins the event and you get the 'Mighty' title)
-If your alliance holds a Metropolis then each alliance member gets a production bonus of about 250, I think
- Reducing the number of Dwellings in your castle, also boosts production but it is not recommended as your quests require you to upgrade/make them

All the ways I could think of, might be other ways to it but I have the major ones are mentioned
