I have no idea what this is and when I hit the 'show me' button it just shows me the world map with a castle in sights. And it says 'preform a successful sabotage'. Should I attack? What does it mean and how do I go about doing it? Please help!

Sabotage is one of the options you can use from your spies menu.  You click on an enemy castle (any player not in your alliance or a pacted alliance is considered an enemy) using the spy button and top left of the screen there are two tabs.  The first tab is automatically on and that is espionage so spy on a castles troops if it's military espionage or resources if it's economic espionage.  The second option is a fire brand that is the sabotage option.  

It is a daily task but players in general if they choose to do sabotage as a daily task try to hit an inactive castle - zero weekly looting total lowest ranked title, no outposts or RV's and already with significant fires as a target.  If you hit an active player and your attack fails they can see that you attacked them and may respond with a military attack.  Normally you set your spies to lowest setting to do minimum damage.  

It is your choice how you approach it though.  Hope this helps.

There also is an achievement with the same name for preforming a sabotage with 50% damage, which is super easy to get. I recommend to have the max (3) number of taverns to have more spys, to lower the risk of failure in espionages (spying) and sabotages. 
For the daily task and achievement, I'd recommend that "player260552916" guy southeast of you, who would be a perfect farm/sabotage target.
