It is no secret that lately, ggs has been struggling financially. They have laid off hundreds of employees. What is bad for ggs becomes bad for its players, because it means less money for investment, and ultimately the closure of the game. With this in mind, I'd like to make a series of suggestions that I believe will benefit both ggs and the gge community. I am aware this will likely fall on deaf ears, but I am writing this in the hope of the off chance it will make a difference.
Id like to begin with a series of assertions regarding ggs's current situation.
1) statistics from ggs itself show that gge, including the mobile version, account for roughly half of ggs's player base.
2) gge has been, especially in 2013 and 2014, a critically acclaimed success, winning numerous awards.
3) because of 1 and 2, it stands to reason that most of ggs's revenue, and therefore most of the reason for it's difficulties, lies with gge.
4) over the past 2 years or so, the gge community has gradually and increasingly begun to criticize ggs for policies, primarily updates.
5) many players, over this 2 year period, including established, powerful, heavy money spenders, have left the game.
6) ggs, prior to roughly 2 years ago, had established itself as an up an coming, highly successful, company.
7) it can therefore be assumed that because ggs's fall from up and coming to hundreds of layoffs has coincided with heavy player criticism from the player base of it's most popular game, a good strategy to reverse ggs's financial difficulties would be to address the issues leading to said criticism.
8) according to https://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Goodgame-Studios-Reviews-E684883.htm one of the leading complaints of ggs employees is that upper management is incompetent and refuses to listen to advise.
9) This is consistent with what this forum has seen, where even when ggs employees (bms/cms) agree with player concerns, they are unable to effect change due to resistance from upper management.
10) it therefore stands to reason that the root cause if ggs's financial difficulties is incompetent, arrogant leadership which refuses to listen to customers or employees about the direction of the company, even when the financial situation of the company proves that something is being done wrong.
Given the above assertions, the best solution to the financial difficulties of ggs would be the replacement of upper management, and for the new management to address player (customer) concerns by working with leading members of this forum and other gge forums to effect positive change.
It is my hope, though I know the odds are slim, that this finds its way to the owners of ggs, and that this encourages them to take steps to rectify the situation before their company collapses, and the game we have loved ceases to exist.
If anyone has suggestions, constructive criticism or sees something I missed, please share and I will be happy to edit my post.

I support this... but doubt it will happen. If the management is in charge then why would they replace themselves?

What I'm hoping for, though I doubt it will happen, is that the owners of the company realize it is in the best interest of their company, and therefore good for them financially, to replace upper management.Turtle24 (US1) said:I support this... but doubt it will happen.
