Is it possible to share resources like food or wood, with other members of your alliance? If so, how?

by having a marketplace, you simply send them the resources they need. someone will probably be here to explain further if you do not know how to send resources

After you have a marketplace built, go to the location of the alliance member you wish to send resources to and click the castle you will send them to. Then click the circle onthe left that has a crate with a green arrow pointing inside the crate and a red arrow pointing outside of the crate. After that an in-game window will pop up where you can choose what resource and how many you are sending.

After sending resources to another city to gain daily task award.  Nothing shows up and I get no confirmation resources were received?   What am I doing wrong?

you can not give anything if the target granary is already full. .
