I have a question. Let's say someone has 100 archers on the front with an 80% wall bonus and 20% gate bonus. Do I have to use 20 manlets, 8 scaling ladders, and 3 battering rams to beat that place with 1 longbowman or do I just use 20 manlets? Manlets have proved the most valuable tool to me, especially in thorn king, and I really adore them.
Also, I want to be 100% sure that there is no way to make melee defenders have 0 power like you can do with manlets and rangers.

This is the best guide I've seen on this forum :)

Hi rathenn, I'm not entirely sure what you mean in your question sorry but please rephrase it and I'll help you out.

If the bowmen has 80% wall and 30% gate or whatever bonus that does not matter at all, if the ranged effectiveness is reduced to 0 then you will still sustain 0 losses, in other words gate or wall tools are pointless in this instance.

There is no equivalent with melee troops.

ok sorry for confusion see why i'm a hermit again
im trying to attempt to raise rubies via rbc now my first 2 weeks i was following the barracks guidelines on what units do till i stepped back and read your and hanzolo and voctorious 5 advices on a mulitple things now i noticed that there are what 6 diferent rbc names and i have no clue who they are compared to each other i hit using latters on 2 rbc same level result is never the same even though men i send are same some give out rubies others dont for same tactic so im wondering if my leaving them with that 5 % left say from a 25 added wall protection 2 latteres kill 20 % how we reduce the 5 using another latter ? oh and i laugh at mospal level 3 stopping my 2spies at 65 percent lol

the rbc castles what level of wall do they have ones not passed 10 yet

ok better yet heres a question
is there a place i can read of the diferent names of barons and which of them is better than other like are they ranked and did someone already have their testing results on spies % needed to pass most of them or what various i went blindly before averaged about rubies every 65% of times but it just aint constant and it changes and im trying to see if it really is me or them ya ya i know its me :)
and i did notice that level 2 hasnt given me more than 95 units plundered

and ill be honest im here cause i got 2 spies went out to same level one passed at 65% the 63% failed on a 3 lol

Your best bet on individual castles is to spy, some RBC's may have different wall bonuses due to tools. Build some more taverns to get more spies and have them constantly on the move. The defensive set-up of RBs doesn't change until level 6 I believe anyways.

Rubies that are given out from towers are variable, for example a level 20 ice tower can give 0 rubies, or up to 13 (maybe a bit more even). There is no way of predetermining this. Worth noting, however, is that the fortresses from other realms give out constant values of rubies.

cause im on usa1 and there is a diference between same name and level rbc i saw that in one spy not making it at 63 and then 2 spies at 65 even failed a mospal levl 3 HAHAHA


and i still cant find where i can see exactly how many rbc there and their plunder availability is unless i write all i visit as i am now

I have seen many battle reports and even a failed attack on the capital. There were 260 ranged defenders on the wall, all on the left flank with arrow slits and some firemoats . The leader of my alliance sent a capture of 1080 veteran macemen with the tool slots all filled up with cast iron mantlets. However, only the fourth wave of attack came through, barely. This is proof that it is not possible for 200 soldiers to defeat ranged defenders even if the defenders have 0% defence, much less one soldier.

Since this would be a flaw in the game, I believe that GGS would not allow it. Ranged defenders cannont go below 100% of their strength, the same way wall protection can't go below 0%. Don't waste mantlets.

Great start. I look forward to reading the next section. I am a lvl 13 but play often and would like to know more about how to start up, and build a good alliance (more so stratagy then mechanicly how). also you seem to know alot about the calculations of the game. Do you by chance know how the stats of the attacking troops and defending troops match up when put against each other and how the computer calculates wins or losses? For instance if 10 macemen go up against 10 spearman, who wins and what are the losses? please include some of these things if you can. thx.
