Humpers the longbow example is great! Love it. I killed of ranged defenders in the center flank with only one archer:

If the point made earlier, about mantlets, cast iron mantlets, shield walls, and such things, is still true...
Attachment not found.Attachment not found.
...then how did this happen?
In this first wave, the attacker employed 150 percentage points worth of shield walls, and the defender used nothing but defense rocks. Thus, shouldn't every ranged defense soldier have been killed, regardless of whether the attacker was strong enough to win the wave overall?
Thanks, Humpers2 or anyone.

Well mantlets one is good and overall this guide is completely brilliant and some parts you stole from the chakravyuhalliance.blogspot.in but the level 4 bakeries part is I think impossible I am a non-ruby player and I saved my rubies and bought a bakery in my main castle and captured a level 2 bakery outpost but I dont think even if I save rubies It will be enough to upgrade bakery level I could just save it enough for a bakery in Everwinter glacier I hope when I get to bigger levels therw would be a way to gain rubies quick and fast and GGE should make a function that you can trade 50 talismans for 100 rubies.

Once you unlock burning sands and fire peaks you can get quite a few rubies if you attack enough.

you have to send enough mantlets to counter the castellan's range bonuses too, if you do that then yea I've taken out 50 cultist bowmen with one archer. Also of course you have to take into consideration any tools that give range bonus like flaming arrows or whatever.xJadetsssx wrote: »Nice guide ;D, everything is good except on the longbow example with the mantlets.
I have proof that using (1) defender when attacking, even if you are facing ONLY ranged defenders without power (countered by mantlets) will not kill all the soldiers.

I have evidence of what I'm about to say, but do not know how to post it here since I only have it in bitmaps on my own computer. That said, I have become aware that moat tools are not working as they should be. You talk about the defensive advantage above, but without the moat tools there is no advantage except to those who are aware of it. To explain what is happening, this example castle is equipped with sharpened stakes in the moat, and an arrow slit and 2 bulwarks for the walls. The attacker sent 52 ranged troops with 10 belfries and 20 shield walls against 260 ranged defenders in one wave, killing all with no casualties. Granted this is a terrible defense -- but shouldn't the moat, which he totally disregarded, have had some effect? I've seen this happen similarly several times and each time the shield walls have covered the moat, or the moat had no effect. What is your opinion here?
Thanks for your great work above.

To the above,
In my opinion I think it is because the range reduction is applied first, then the remaining bonus of defense of the troops is applied with the moat/wall bonus.
That is how I see it.

Here how you attack the Fire Fortress you send two tool killer waves then on waves 3-4 send all ranged troops and go down the middle and the flank send Manlets and ladders you will lose about 95 troops

Hi, I am just a couple weeks old in the game and I am stuggling to earn barely enough coins to cover my losses from raiding robber baron castles, am I doing it wrong?
edit - read about the tip where there is no need to spy on every robber castle as all castles at the same level has the same troop deployment so just need to spy on one. Really great tip! Saved so much coins from spying!
