if you use the defense attackers then if you won that fight or not is important you will loose all the soldiers

No, they are way weaker than attackers, if you are going to use them for attack they will die easily.

they are good enough just ffor numbers, morale and if your not afraid of losing just a few

maybe against level 1-2 RBC's. When you reach even level 15 RBC's, you get a bunch of true defenders, and you will need attack units to win. In my latest lvl 15, I had 8 archers on each flank, and 15 crossbow.

That's only if they are defending or atatcking level 1's.

Don't use defenders to attack, even if they outnumber.

Defenders are generally not good units to attack with. However...

a) If the enemy has wayyy worse protection against melee/ranged, and you've run out of that type of attacker, it may be acceptable to attack with the right type of defender. This is only to be used with units that are reasonably close in attack strength, though - macemen and spearmen, for instance.

b) If you need to lose soldiers because you have too high food consumption and/or too low food production. This also works if you want to lose your less powerful soldiers so you'll have more food for the more powerful ones (this generally happens when you've just upgraded your barracks).

c) If you send soldiers to defend in later waves once you've taken over an outpost/resource village (only applies to higher level players).

d) If you REALLY need to win a battle, sending a few spare defenders in later waves can occasionally turn a win into a lose, at a heavy price.

I overbuilt Defenders at first, and decided to use them against some lower level RBCs defended by farmers and offensive macemen. Up to level 5, I could take them easily, with little attrition. Since I was trying to kill those troops, I sent them after Level 6-7 RBCs, same result. Once you start seeing real defensive troops, they die off rather quickly (which, in my case, was mission accomplished!)

So in the early levels, yes, using defenders to farm RBCs isn't necessarily a bad idea, especially if you want to level up some distant ones without tying up offensive troops you need for RBCs you've already leveled up. But I wouldn't depend on it after level 8, unless you're just filling slots for morale.

Here are the usual 3 cases I would suggest to use defenders as attackers:

#1) When doing cleaner-type attacks (sending a total of 26 soldiers on all 3 flanks and on all 4 waves to remove your opponent's tools). Seeing as defensive soldiers often have the highest soldier speed in the game, these soldiers may be the prefered method.

#2) For extra speed when new - uncaptured - villages appear on the map. They may give you the extra speed that will have you arrive a couple of minutes/seconds before other rivals. You need at least 200 defenders sent however if yuo want to capture just a single village with ease though, seeing as their attack strength is extremely poor.

#3) When sending off a capture-attack, placing defenders in the final waves of the capture-attack so as to already provide on-the-spot defenders for when you capture that outpost/capital.
