All you need to do to get loads of equipment is send 2 archers to level 1 robber baron castles. Send loads of armies to do this, and soon you'll have loads of equipment. You get roughly 2 pieces of equipment for every 3 level 1 RBCs you attack.

or just buy 10million items from the goblin

Or just recruit macemen that are cheaper and consume less food. But, after a while, you run out of level 1 rbcs with a radius of 30. You have to remember that you can only level up like 150 NPCS in the whole game..

I would rather attack one fire tower to get an epic than goes through this process

not if you have a lot of lvled up robber baron castles. There is still a maximum of robber baron castles that you can lvl up
