Ok, a LOT of people are being cut up and slaughtered in the everwinter glacier, and I'm so over it I'm going to write a guide for the everwinter glacier when you enter.

Before you start off, make sure you have plenty of resources, rubies, and defense troops. If you don't have defense troops in main, you may as well reduce your honor to 200-300.

You will need 7,000 stone and wood each and 5,000 food and coins each to enter. Do not use up all of your resources to pay for this; you'll need extra.

When you are in, you will be able to see that the expanding prices get to ridiculous rates compared to your main castle. That is why, when you begin, build a storage area and upgrade to level 2. The first things you should have on priority are storage, food, and resources. Keep around 3-4 farmhouses, 3 woodcutters, and 3 stonemasons, and a level 2 storage. Keep sending resources from your main castle to the iceland when you need them.

When you upgrade your famhouses enough to keep around 100 soldiers, this is your time to look for, the most needed and best thing in everwinter, RESOURCE VILLAGES! You can capture 5 of each resource, but you may see people having 10! This is because before you could've taken 10 of each resource, but it is now reduced to 5. But the people with 10 RVs (resource villages) didn't lose them. They kept them. However, if someone captures their RVs, they cannot take them back. He can only take it back when you capture his 5th RV. Well, its pretty rare to find an empty resource village, so TAKE IT. With 100 troops, you'll be able to defeat the armed citizens there. If its a wood or stone, you don't have a large chance of taking it as high levelers that have level 3 stables can take it right before your eyes. I wouldn't say its mandatory to take wood or stone villages; but it is MANDATORY for FOOD villages. Heck, I have 10 food resource villages, a lvl 1 bakery, and non-ruby decorations, and I can feed 1800 troops without going negative! So with 5 food villages, I would say you will be able to feed around 900-1100 troops without going negative. My point is that wood/stone RVs are a luxury, but food RVs are neccessities.

Well, if there aren't any empty food villages, you'll have to pull them out of either an inactive player who doesn't play anymore but has a few food RVs, or just a newbie with a food RV. I know it seems harsh, but it IS a war game, right? Take it from them. I've personally seen 100s of inactives with food villages, but I can't take them as I have over 4.

Well, after you take your food RVs, then you are pretty much set. Your farmouses will be making 5 times more than it should. PO is something needed. Thats pretty much it to be successful.

You might be being looted when you are a newbie to ice. The solution- open your gates, build hideouts, and lower your honor to a point where they attack you and lose honor. A firehouse is NOT needed. Before the attack, you can ship all of your resources to your main castle to piss your attacker off.

Well, if you have any suggestions or critism, please post and I will include your ideas into the post. Happy RV hunting!

Anyone remember how many peasants there are on each flank and inside an unoccupied RV? Takes too much time to try and spy 1... most likely by then youve already lost the chance of getting it

Total 150 farmers
Best formation for lesser losses:
20-0-20

So I wonder how those people will survive in Sands?

You don't need 100 troops (unless they are level 2 weak troops) to beat an RV. You just need 30 two handed sword or vet mace (preferring vet mace because of its speed) to beat the RV. Be sure that you get the wolves also, they make it easier to get RVs, though it is more useful in sand.

With the food villages, those are easy. The open food villages always stay open for at least 3 days after the new RVs pop up, because no one really wants them.

Also, it's not a good idea to ship your resources to your main castle, easier way is just put it into your village in ice.

And yes, wood/stone RVs are luxuries, but take them first as they go quickly.

My tip is -

Don't go to ice until you are at least level 30 and have 3 outposts in green with free-flowing resources. I think those that have so much trouble go up immediately when they can and then they are too slow to build up there.

[1580670] The Dark Angel (US1) [None] :: July 3, 2013, 9:18 p.m.
i started with 2 really good outposts that produce 500 stone and other 500 wood so i could support myself easily. I had around 900 honor and was never attacked in winter, upgrade your walls gate and keep to level 2 as soon as possible and not many will attack you after that. try to get 100 haldbeirdlers and 100 two handed swordsmen. attack barbarians for coins and rubies to recruit and spped up building progress speed and if you upgrade 8 farm houses to level 8 you will produce over 1000 food with 5 RV's. get 4 woodcutters and 4 stone masons to level 6-8 and you should be set. Good Luck!

I've been in Everwinter for a little bit now and I haven't seen ANY of these "empty RV's" that you guys have talked about, yet new RV's are popping up around me ALL the time! Am I missing something here? Or are you suppose to just take them from other players?

[1580849] Alton Kilsek [None] :: July 4, 2013, 12:29 a.m.
Or just stare at the world map for hours until one appears?

[1580852] therealsporer (US1) [None] :: July 4, 2013, 12:35 a.m.
yup. sometime you stare for hours and none appear. this means you haven't stared long enough. best is to get in an alliance where others are also looking and will alert you.

Most of the new RV's pop up at the top of the map so that they can start to work on filling up the world, if you are generated there you are lucky and will probaly be able to get one everyonce in a while. it takes forever to pop up but when they do they come in like packs of 7 so you can probaly get 1 if you are fast enough.

How many level 10 farmhouses do you have though? Is your castle full of parks as well? The number of farmhouses and type of decoration makes a huge difference

I see nothing about defence. yes there are troops but what about walls towers and gates. after all defence is key so why have it in grass and not ice?
my tip is work on defence first then troops/food production then look at taking rvs. res can come from grass

I always upgrade my walls gate and keep first to level 2 right away and that is enough to let others know that you arent so easy and basic and you need to be careful on how you pick your fight with them, being in a strong alliance always helps too!

Hey i am just going to Everwinter Glacier and I am in a strong alliance too with 15 or 16 players above 50 and they say me to do quests in Green build level 5 barracks level 4 storage and other thing and save up 15000 coins and 30000 rescources,I am going to the side where they are and they say that they will protect me I read blogs and one said pay all rescources just only 1 rescource left like 4999 stone and pay that 1 stone after you make all the rescources and coins after beginning upgrade keep to level 2 walls to level 2 build a storage and upgrade it to level 2 and build farmhouses and stone quarries and woodcutters and upgrade them to level 3 or 4 and after that build a loot warehouse and send troops over 50 defense and 200 attack after that capture rvs and first go for food after you have captured 2 capture all the rescource villages and my alliance is good as my memeber who was near me supported me and gave me 2 rvs and 2 food rvs and I started attacking towers and after getting coins you just build it like and outpost and start attacking new players and when rvs pop up in your side quickly pick them up with your alliance members I am small and as they are 50s they help me capture them and I attack new players for honor as my own honor is 200-300 and it helps.

umm I went at level 25 I have 2 flowing outpost but still I am surround at every side except for the top there is nothing except fortresses and it is sad because there isn't a resource village anywhere near me

[1729847] sandee7 (US1) [None] :: March 27, 2014, 8:15 p.m.
Can you post and show how to defeat a barbarian fortress that wouls be a tremendous help.

[1729858] Daniel Degude [None] :: March 27, 2014, 8:25 p.m.
Barbarian fortresses- 1-2 waves of martyrs (depends on flank; use to get rid of flaming arrows) then one wave of full heavy crossbowman/vet crossbowman and full mantlets. With 40% minimum ranged combat bonus, and this set up, expect about 40-65 casualties.
I have 7 rv's so far in ice and if anyone wants any advice or help message me.
