Let me divulge the greatest tip that anyone can tell you...and yes you will underestimate its importance but please follow it to become a better player:

use the forums!

I can almost feel your disappointment but seriously that is the single best way to get better at this game. I have only been playing for a month and already I know more about this game then some lvl 40's in my alliance who haven't spent long on these forums.
- read the tips and tricks often
- read the sticky's
- read the answers to other people's questions
- ask any question that comes into your head. People are generally nice and will be glad to help
- if you are having a problem, put it on the forums! Getting bullied...people will help. Have a resource shortage? We can give advice

All in all, I wish I had started using these forums earlier. I've made a few mistakes already that could have easily been avoided. Hope this helps, heed the advice and happy gaming

Haha yea thought I'd go for something slightly different. The idea is to show how education and intelligence is the true weapon of the modern era and not brute strength, as well as showing how it can be used for good (hence the bottom half is white) and to an equal extent evil (hence the top half is black)
