Taxes
Coins are an important commodity in the game mainly used to recruit soldiers and pay for travel expenses of armies and market barrows. Primary method of obtaining coins in the game is via taxing your population. Tax window can be opened by clicking on the money sack icon located in the lower right corner of the screen. There are several options for tax duration during which taxes can be collected. Hover, without clicking, on each time option to see how many coins will be collected during each period. Note that as collecting time goes up, the total coins collected per minute goes down.

For example: A ten minute tax collecting time can yield 370 coins, however 30 minute collecting time will not yield 1110 coins, but 732 coins. This reduction in total taxes continues as tax collecting time increases. Thus to obtain maximum amount of coins via taxing, a 10 minute collecting time is recommended.

Once a tax collecting time is selected, collection will begin. It can be stopped early by paying a fee in rubies. Once the tax collecting time has been reached, coins can be claimed without paying any fees; but they have to be collected by player, as they will not be automatically deposited. Note that once a tax collecting timer has reached zero, a new claim timer will begin. Claim time will be equivalent to the tax collecting time that was selected. Player will have one half of the time to claim the collected taxes without any lose. After the claim time falls below one half, the total coins that can be claimed will be steadily reduced until the timer reaches zero and only 25% of the total taxes collected can be claimed.

When player chooses to collect the coins after some were lost, they will be presented with an option to collect what is left, or bribe a tax collector to receive full amount they should have gotten.

After coins are claimed by the player a new tax collection can begin.

Taxes are the primary source of coins in the game, but it is not the only one; however currently there is no method of transferring coins between players of the game.

Robber Baron
You can obtain coins by attacking Robber Baron castles located all over the map. If the attack is carried out properly and the player is victorious, generally speaking the looted coin value will be greater than the cost of recruiting lost soldiers due to battle. Furthermore player will obtain wood, stone, food, occasionally even a small amount of rubies and on top of that and a piece of equipment. The higher level the Robber Baron castle is, better the loot and equipment will be; however it will also be better defended. Don’t forget to factor in the cost of sending your troops over. If the Robber Barron castle is sufficiently far enough, you may actually loose coins when all is said and done.

When you hover on Robber Barron castle, without clicking on it, you will find out what level it is and how many successful attacks will it take to move it to next level. The trick is that all Robber Barron castles with same level and number of attacks to the next level have the same amount of soldiers and their distribution. That goes for any defense tools as well. Thus if you have a spy report for Robber Barron castle Level 1, 1 victory to level 2; all Robber Barron castles at Level 1, 1 victory to level 2 will have the same set-up.

Looting
Another way to get coins through attack would be to loot your fellow castle lords. Don't forget to always spy on your enemy first.

Marauders
Hire a marauder for 990 rubies to gain 20% more loot for 7 days. You should make this worth it's money by always being on the offensive - No commander should ever be free. You might want to send your armies on long distance campaigns while you sleep.

Research Tower
Once you reach certain level you will be gain access to build a research tower. One of the research items will allow you to increase your overall tax revenue by researching levies.

Native Village
Native village in the Everwinter Glacier and The Burning Sands worlds offers up an exchange for charcoal/olive oil and in return you will receive coins. Depending on your level and situation, it may be worth while investing into charcoal burners/olive grove and exchange products for coins.

I hope this helps you poor people.

Thankyou for listening.
