Lesson #2 for the day boys and girls... you can move your main castle once for free. Do so before you start taking OPs, and move to a nice little are where there are 3 shiny foods available for the taking. And don't listen to players who clearly don't understand the whole game. On all servers there are big swatches of land far from the center spawn area where there is heavy congestion.

Don't settle for second best. Take shiny OPs. Whatever section of the map you are on, if you are patient they will be there. Players with shinys leave the game and go to ruins, take one off them or take one that is free or organize a trade with someone silly enough not to want their shiny food OP.
I have two out of three shiny food OPs. They are worth it. I'll trade out the other one when I get a chance.
Simply join a strong alliance, or build one that is strong and pacted. Then you shouldn't have to worry about your OPs getting nabbed.
As for moving, personally I like it somewhere inbetween crowded and empty. Things happen faster in the middle, but there is often more quality at the edge of the map.

you look on the map and they are shiny. just wander around near you. shiny/sparkly ones are better.

Lets compare shiny food vs 6 food. Assuming PO of 215%, equals 315% total production for the first 6 or 8, and a level 4 bakery. Assuming you just do the 6 factories, or 8, thats 1680 vs 2240 food production an hour. With a level 4 bakery, thats a difference of 230 vets, not including one handed swordsman. That equals and extra 700 guys between three outposts, that sounds worth it to me, and that does not including building more than 6-8 factories and having more troops than can technically be fed off your food production.

Moving your castle is not dangerous, stop posting bad information. You are a level 14, and assuming this is your first acct, you don't understand things, and if this isn't your first acct, then you truly don't understand things.
and I know plenty of people who once they move to suburbia or rural areas don't have their shiny food OPs instantly taken, even low levels and in smaller alliances. And if someone does make a move on them, find someone bigger to help you. Most people are willing to help someone who is an active player having their OPs stolen without provocation. But if you have a mediocre shiny food OP in the country-side and you are showing signs of life and an alliance, 99% of the time you will be left alone.
Better than wasting time creating another OP in the future... do it right the first time, and if you have the opportunity to upgrade to a fully-built one later on? even better.

I would say - if there is a close shiny outpost - take it - if it is 10 or more km away - don't take it.
I took a shiny stone op when I was level 15 cuz this other guy offered it to me and have NEVER even been attacked by anyone! Taking shiny ops don't sign you into a war - not many people fight just because they are shiny ops - the higher players have already got the finest ops and so the lower players are left with not much of a choice usually.
Also - YOUNGER PLAYERS - ITS YOUR CHOICE - NO ONE ELSES! IF YOU WANT TO TAKE A SHINY OP THEN FINE! IF YOU WANT TO TAKE A NORMAL OP FINE AGAIN! YOUR SAFE EITHER WAY and you have the same ratio for attack whether or not you take a shiny op.

(sorry for yelling just don't like being passed off as a ranting noob when in fact I know a lot about this game did you see my honor.
Then stop posting noob advice. Telling someone to build up an op only to abandon it later when they get to a higher level is utterly foolish. The fact you quote honour as an indicator of your level of knowledge of the game in fact does the opposite.

You can delete it if you want - it has just caused a whole discussion, lower leveled players can do what they like, though its good to have some advice sometimes
