if you definitely won't be able to loot enough loot from robber barons, then you'll just have to send your soldiers into a battle that they will definitely lose, or win with severe losses

several ways, Farm other castles ie attack them and you will win food and resources, Build More farm houses and upgrade them as quickly as you can
Build a Bakery and Flower mill,
