Now, I have been doing the traveling knights for a while now. I sent 6 attacks recently on robber barons. Guess how many relic pieces I got? 6!
Yes, all of my attacks gave a relic. You want to know how?
First off, the RBC levels were 11, 13, and 16, higher level RBCs. While attacking lots of robber barons at once works sometimes, that leaves much to chance and uses up all of your commanders. The best way to go is to attack as many mid-high level ones as possible, where you will get at least 6 relics for 15 or so hits (estimated from past experience.) I was especially lucky this time.
So, when given the choice between 20 level 3 RBCs and 3 level 14 ones? Go for the level 14s and play it safe. You'll be glad you did.

you have been plain lucky.. the percentage chance of getting a relic increases with the highest towers you have. sending loot sack also helps.
