I mean, come on. It was a great way to train how to defend yourself, and got you some glory too. Why not bring them back?

I don't think it will happen because the cry babies on the super event server of DE1 can't handle it.  DE1 sure looks like a ruby whale event fest to me at least.

Exactly. If you can't handle a PVP attack, get off GGE. It's a war game.

Actually this is a feuding game.  It's set up so that you can't eliminate a person(or be eliminated), but rather can mutually annoy the hell out of each other indefinitely.   Hatfields and McCoys come to mind for me at least.

The original travian was much more of a war game.  They've PCized that game more than this one from what I gather.

Well how about they try and make it more like a war game. It'll get GGS more money too, the whales will buy more def and tools, so the greedy people over at GGS should add it.

Problem is that would a steady income stream.  Selling more food production/storage via(OR and BTH(The latest abomination)) pays for the lap dances at the nudie bar TONIGHT.  Sure it's at the expense of next month's and year's rent/mortgage/food but that's a minor detail.....

I usually got those just as i was about to start first pint on a (rare) night out ! - I usually had defences set so no probs unless propper PvP - so had to dash to the library (if still open) or home to log on sort then back out !

I believe the main problem players had with the attacks from FLs and BCs was not that they couldn't handle the attacks, but more that the attackers were about as strong as the usual FL defence, and served more as tool cleaning hits than anything worthwhile.

They did start off strong and if you didn't have the troops to defend it, you got burned. In the end they made them weak before removing it from the server.

No point on bringing them back. If you want to train you can do so on other events like these:

The attacks only gave like up to 40k glory. You'd even be better defending khan attacks than FL's since khan attacks are better. Or you can just attack players.

I heavily agree with @Kyriakos (GB1) , these were more of toolburns than anything, and now that people spend money on black lines I don't think returning the FL hits is a good move.

And I also agree with @PLANETA (PT1) , it's WAY more rewarding to use defenders for nomad event, and PVP practice during collector events is always fun, the issue is that they come up every few months for a week.

One point I'd like to make is that if they come back they would likely upgrade the hits, cuz let's face it, they were 4 waves, 64 flanks, 192 fronts, kg attackers, with wooden tools most of the time. That would be good for most players because it's an easy way to bag some extra glory the issue is when you have some incompetent players who aren't as good as other players getting smashed by them. Although I don't believe GGS cares much for those players though...

As I recall, the loudest whines were that the hits "always come when I am offline" and they didn't set the defense properly.  I did that a few times.  You get lazy, busy, tired, or 'other' and just forget to set your off-line def.   But really, whose fault is that?

Offline defense usually mean limes and I am not too fond of the toolburning they bring. Also I was talking on the behalf of weaker players who won't be able to put up a decent defense against FL hits assuming they get improved, which they most likely will.

I get that.  I just remember most of the whining was that people would log in and find themselves on fire.

As long as you had a half decent setup, 90% of the time they were just nuisance hits.  Every now and again they would be properly tooled with a real Commander.  If you were offline for those, you better have had the right Def up.

I doubt they will bring them back.  IT would bring even louder howls if they DID bring them AND made them stronger......
