[-378897] Prancing Pony (US1) [US1] :: Dec. 7, 2020, 8:56 a.m.
Hey all 10 other forum users,

Sooooo i've been sitting around quite bored today, and then i read @Geode (US1) post which makes me feel small for only putting forth one idea.

HOWEVER, i will do it anyways, because i care about this game. Level 50 has been the alliance level cap for as long as i can remember (and i have been playing 7 years). This is totally outdated as of the Top 200 alliances on US1 (and i'm sure many others) only 1 is not level 50 (and also not a retirement alliance). With the increase in the availability of glory through greater access to tools and troops, i think it is only fitting this cap goes up.

The current cap sits at 21.35 million glory. The current threshold for being top 100 in glory is 44 million, indicating by my best guess that the top 400 or so players in glory could be in a level 50 alliance by themselves. I know GGE is not big on creating rewards that do not have to be paid for, however they are losing players in part thanks to lack of engagement. What engages players is goals and working together for a greater reward.

Increasing the cap from 50 to say 75 (or preferably 100) would create a new goal to work towards as an alliance. These levels could be achieved in different ways such as:

Each level would be different after 50, this would increase engagement in more than one event leading to more player activity, and preventing them from all being achieved at one time, making it more of a long-term goal. The final level could be  500 million glory, which is what you would then have to maintain to keep level 100, much like you do currently with level 50.

Adding in rewards such as:
More could be added, but i am not a creative genius.

Now the problem which will inevitably be pointed out is that what stops players from jumping alliance to alliance to earn all these rewards multiple times? Nothing. Sike i lied that would be stupid and broken, i would suggest that gge implement the same system they use with the Eastern raider armour in the nomad shop, which you are only allowed to purchase once. These rewards would only be allowed to be earned a singular time by each player.

But pony, you all cry in fear, what about people letting other join their alliance to get the rewards and then leaving? GGE could implement 3 different options from my perspective to combat that.

  1. Create a level threshold, so that you need to be a certain level to earn these rewards. For example, all individual rewards above 50 are only given out to those who are above level 70. Every 16 legendary levels (800/50=16) you are eligible for a new tier.
  2. You must be in an alliance for a set period of time, every few days (or a week) you earn a new level of rewards. This would prevent those hoping in to get them all at once. This way even if you are in Alliance 1 and they are level 60 and have been there the whole time but wish to visit a friend in Alliance 2 that is level 65, you won't earn those extra rewards unless you stay for a month, but should you return home to Alliance 1 you'll still get the level 61 rewards once you have been there the required time.
  3. Third option is that you must participate and contribute a certain amount of the requisite points to become eligible for the rewards, i.e, if level 51 is 500k nomad points, you have to earn 10k, if its 30 million glory, you need 300k, etc.

I know that this is a lengthy post, i didn't think it would be, but i was inspired by geode so blame him. I apologize for all the uncapitalized i's, no autocorrect and i  don't feel like it. I hope you all consider this and the mods pass it along as i genuinely believe this is a great way to keep players engaged and active with goals to look forward to.

Appreciate all feedback and suggestions.

Cheers.

EDIT: A concern was raised by an alliance mate asking what happens when the same cap of level 100 is hit? For one, there is no need for a hard level cap, it could be infinite. Secondly, as laid out currently, it would take 50 events and at 6 months to earn level 100, creating a long-term objective to strive for.

Love the idea of expanding the Alliance Levels!

I can also confirm that a single player can take an alliance to level 50.  I have been there for a few months now.....

@Wasso (INT3)

Feels like it makes no sense not to, it used to be a goal oh wow level 50 congrats we did it, but now it's a formality.

would love @Poseidon X Angel  to weigh in

Nice post and yes would be great to see some of the old and tired stats re-modelled to give more players an incentive to play old format events

@Crom Cruach is this an idea that could be put forward for consideration?
