Hello,
So a large topic in game currently is a server merge, this is due to so many small servers unable to have a competitive aspect to it. Small amount of alliances etc.
Now what if instead of making it more of those things, we just made it feel like that. We could reduce the amount of members in an alliance per the player count of the server.
I will use my home server. We have 738 players out of a potential 1300 in the top 20 alliances right now. If we reduced the alliance membership limit to say 30. We could now fill nearly 25 full alliances, with an adjusted alliance/solo reward ranking, it could make the game more worthwhile playing to many players.

having read this yesterday and mulled it over overnight - I can say that 30 would not solve this problem - my alliance has just got back to 60 player after being down to 14 2 yrs ago - and we are still only just in top 50 UK - as the new players are lower levels.
that being said the current limit is not the issue - to encourage more players and to level the playing field you'd need to drastically change the dynamic of the game - there are 3 to 17 player alliances on uk1 and they consistently scor high - because they buy rubies - ! thats why alliance numbers don't matter - perhaps they could limit allianvces to 5 ruby buyers each ?

Your alliances would still be too large. In fact in this day and age the current limit is too large for any server. You want to level the alliance playing field? Get rid of the stationing at a player under the bird, and some kind of sliding scale for the number of players in an alliance and total might of the alliance with say a 10 player floor. To get to said numbers, you have an auto breakup at say 20million might, and don't let let an alliance add members once they reach say 18 million if the alliance has more than 10 players. You could still have an alliance 10 players with unlimited might, but not one of 11 players. With potentially less players online in an alliance at any given time, more PvP hits should be the result.

Many of the players in larger alliances will quit playing if they are forced to divide. I certainly would.
GGS will likely look at where their profits come from and do what serves making money the best. That is what a business is for after all.
Since they don't seem to advertise any more and have no loyalty rewards system, they seem to be relying on friendship to keep players playing and thus spending money. Divide me from my friends and I see no reason to continue.

What would this accomplish?
Everyone in AU1 server knows that Boo Masters rules the server. The other alliances are of no consequence at all.

@bucketofsquid (US1) I understand your point as I'm still around mostly due to the friends I have in the game. Just consider a couple of points:
1)They're quitting anyways. The actual players are, if not the account which just gets passed/sold to some new person.
2)How many of the other 64 members(assuming a full alliance) are you actually friends with? How many do the work and how many are just along for the ride?
My suggestions are more to reflect the current state of the game and possible ways to bring back the successful one off respectful PvP hit. As an example, back when I was approaching 200k might, Negan(who was if not top dog, one of less than 5 in the running for it as far as might goes) had 5-600k might, I felt I had a much better shot(even if it was small) of landing a (single, one off with no tool burns ahead) winning hit than pretty much anybody does now against any top tier player.

Good points but I'm not quitting and while we have some churn we seem to retain most of our active player for years. We are a bit short of 64 at the moment but it goes up and down a lot.
I think one thing we can be sure of is whatever GGS does, it won't make us happy.
