...closed. I just lost a defense against 3000 horrors because I logged on and the horn said I had a minute and a half. I needed to adjust my defense to match the all-melee attack they were sending against me on the flank I typically defend, AND buy more defenders at the master blacksmith's to make up for the ones I'd lost while I was offline. I'd just gotten the flank adjusted and was about to buy the defenders when lo and behold ... popup! "HERALD OF THE INVASION"! --- popup! "YOUR ALLIANCE HAS ALREADY GAINED ... (blah blah blah)!" ---popup! "TABLETS OF POWER!" popup! popup! popup! popup! By the time I got the damn things closed the attack had already hit and I lost all my defenders. Thank God it was a bee event attack, so I didn't have spit-tons of fires to worry about, but I might have!

Yeah, its getting insane. My personal favorite is the 2-3 loyalty bonuses that pop up every 5 mins that freeze your game and force you to reload.

They do not pop up nearly that often, I get they are annoying and they are being worked on. But come on, they last 30 minutes and you can only have 1 at the same time.

Sure I exaggerated a bit but I think the general point stands. But why do there need to be popups at all?! Not just the ads, all of them. And if there have to be, why do they have to be so large that they cover most of the screen and why do they have to prevent you from clicking on anything else until they are closed? I think that was what I was asking, underneath the frustration from my particular situation. I get that they only last 30 minutes; I dispute that you can only have one at the same time, since the whole problem was that I had to close three or four of them and by the time I got that done I'd already lost.
Again, just to be clear, I'm not just talking about the popup ads, I also mean the announcements that I've completed a quest, that my alliance has reached a certain threshold in an event, that I've gotten an event reward, etc. etc. etc. They ALL prevented me from acting in a situation that was time critical. Sure, those situations don't come up all that often, but when they do, avoidable losses are the result. And when they do come up, when you're just starting the game is exactly the time they're likely to be a problem! And a good many of the defenders I lost were ruby troops that cost me actual money. I'm not a huge ruby whale who can afford to shrug off that kind of thing. The last time I played GGE I was totally F2P, but I was curious about what it was like to be a ruby buyer so I saved up my "mad money" for a couple of years and tried it. So far I've been able to stretch it out thanks to the 120%/200% ruby bonus ads you were talking about, but I can't afford needless losses like this. And if I'm losing actual money, I wouldn't minimize that as just "annoying" like your response seems to do.
So why do these things have to be announced in a way that covers up the screen and stops you from clicking on anything else until they're closed? that's my question. Why can't there just be a little bubble over the appropriate tab telling you somethign happened that you might want to know about? It would still be technically a popup, but it wouldn't hijack the whole screen! My music player gives me popups when it starts a new song, but they're small, they only cover about an inch of the bottom right of my monitor, and I can click play, or rewind, or any other of the music player commands, even while they're onscreen. Can't you figure out something like that? Or PM us? I'm not necessarily expecting the popup ads to be made less intrusive since after all the rubies they sell are your primary source of income, but if the other things could be announced some other way it would be a lot more manageable, especially if they're being worked on so there's only one AD to close and NOTHING ELSE. I could have gotten through in time to win the defense if that had been the case. Any possiblity of running this by the devs?

Sometimes these pop-ups are annoying but at the same time, they mess up those who are probably still using bots to do their work for them. Once there is a pop-up, there really is nothing a bot can do. I think it is a small step to getting rid of those players once and for all. Now onto those who still use VPNs who try to buy rubies at a cheaper price @Philt123 (GB1)

You people are not listening to me! IT'S NOT JUST A QUESTION OF BEING ANNOYING!!! I CAN DEAL WITH ANNOYING!!!!! I CAN'T DEAL WITH LOSING MONEY!!!!! STOP THE BOTS SOME OTHER WAY!!!!!!! WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO BE PUNISHED BECAUSE SOMEBODY ELSE USES A BOT TO CHEAT!!!!
