Hi everyone,
As you may have read my recent posts have been very negative, I think there are many players feeling negative towards this new update, I have tried to work with it and find the problems for usability and interface userbility, and the changes it will make to game mechanics,..
There are a few bugs,
Auto fill doesnt take into account the limits for new mead tools. programming needs to be changed, an auto fill shouldnt over fill.
Spy reports dont show all the troops in the courtyard, you cannot press the arrow to move acroos to see there courtyard troops.
There the only bugs I have found so far,.
But I must admit the auto fill isnt great, and you would think that auto fill would not over fill the slots, I dont think autofill has been programed with the mead tool limits, it should at least tell you were you are over,to be honest i never use auto fill maybe to fill in troops later waves but yea, the only realistic way of using this new attack screan is with presets and the tik boxes, it can actually be faster, but i think you need at least 2 presets for pvp, first few waves and one for later waves, then you need 2 for events, one first wave and on the the rest like filling in chests, I just save range and tools on the first and then just tools like chests for the rest then use the tik boxes to auto fill troops as i may not always have all the ranged troops available, I will say tho that it is very awkward, and with berimonds and nomads on at the same time, 6 presets is now more friendly, but im still working with 3 presets, the price of the next preset increases by what looks like 50% ish, my first one was 2200 rubys, i think my 3rd one i had to get because of this new attack screan was 4700 rubys if i remember corectly, tbh there ae a lot of players who dont buy rubys and I think a preset or 2 should be given for free to help them,
The most annoyng thing I have found with the attack menu, is when you fill in tools like shields for a flank and change to the other flank the tools menu jumps back to the top of the list, there are so many clicks involved now its more of a chore, it actually makes you angry there is no flow to the setting up at all, stressfull to say the least, and onother thing you used to be able to click a place in the slider bar its quicker and easier than having to drag the slider to a certain place, you can usually remember the place in the slider to click to much easier than dragging.
In my honest opinion I think if they reduced the wall unit limit slightly, to between what it was and what it is now, and if they stopped the seperate courtyard attack, and changed the attack screan to be more user firendly then the update could be good, I dont see what was wrong with the old attack screen, you could still add a general in some where,
I also think the general gives players even more strength, and there are too many facotrs to work out now, also one of the skills says an increase on flanks , we have no idea what that increase is to be able to calculate our ratio's etc..
Also if you spy a caslte when you look at courtyard you cannot see beyond the troops shown on the screen, meaning you cannot press the arrow to see all the troops in there courtyard.
And one last think, I think the generals inn is a good idea, and to be honest its the only part of the update that I like, I just think it is well over priced for what you get in return,.
I have now got my general to level 10, and now I dont get XP i need 185 shards to upgrade him to a 1 gold star, but that will take a long time with the handfull of shards you get as gifts, I could see unfair advantages been got here, with the big ruby players leveling up to the max far beyond anyone, meaning we are not being given equal chances, but I suppose thats how economics work in a game like this,
But yeah I personally think The seperate courtyard attack has ruined defence now, I think it would be better without the seperate courtyard attack, We did need more troops on the wall, but I think this is too many now, and I think the older attack screen was better, The general well I dunno I think creates more imbalance from attacker to defender, unless you have more generals one on attack on on defence, but that means your going to need one on every castle, and I think there is too much to calculate, and it is not really done in stats, and if they are like the 40% attack power every 2 waves it is not added, I think it is too complex and has taken the simplistic fun away, and many people just cannot be botherd with the mind field now, its too complex,
I would only keep the generals inn from the whole update, and maybe half of the extra troops on the wall, the rest of the update IMO has really spoiled the game and will continue to do so the more they level up.
This is just my outlook on things, but I really do believe that's hit the nail on the head, and this would result in a better place than it was before, I'm on the fence with the general itself but I don't think it will balance anything only make it worse,
And the seperate courtyard attack is ridiculess, an attacker can send up to 3300 extra troops that is seperate, this will not create ballance, only more imballance.

Someone was NOT paying attention - IF IT WORKS, DON'T FIX IT!!! The attack menu was working quite nicely till some _______ decided to change it. NOT a good idea. To fix it properly, put it back the way it was.

If this update was intended to weed out players who are reluctant to spend money on a game that was "billed" as free when they joined, in favor of heavy ruby buyers, then everything that has followed is exactly as planned. I learned when I joined to make do with what we could get from actually playing the game and took my time becoming a level 950 player. Only spend for things you really wanted or felt you needed. I and many of the most experienced players in my alliance will be leaving the game if many of these change issues are not mitigated. I won't go into what they are- because so many others have so eloquently done that already. I spend as little as I can, being on a fixed income. Being handed 5k attack troops and some tokens and tools does not fix the problem for me.
From reading in the forum, I surmise that other alliances are experiencing similar reactions, from their core players. In almost 8 years in the game, I've never seen so much discontent articulated in the forum posts. So maybe Good Game overshot their target on this one. Some players may soften over time, and with other consolation "gifts" like the last, but I will not be playing.
I've played the game because it was fun, and a chance to meet people who enjoy similar entertainments. I'm not having fun anymore in this game. I can meet people playing other games. When I'm done, I will not look back
It does not seem to matter to the game's decision makers. Bean counters count beans, not people...
I wish everyone good luck and good gaming, whether they choose to go or stay!
