What are the pros and cons to having relic gear to unique and legendary gear?

Legendary gear has different caps meaning if you want a commander with maxed out loot % or fire damage you want to use legendary gear in combination with unique gear and same goes for casts for anti fire damage and loot reduction.

Most of the unique gear and all the legendary, epic, & rare gear are not worth bothering with other than sell it for coin. Most of the unique gear is headed the same direction.

You will want to have a fire castellan, Master summoner (from shapeshifters), and possibly a destruction commander that can only be be made with either unique or legendary equipment.
With unique and legendary equipment you will need to use the technicus to level them up to 20/16. It may take a bit of coin doing so but with relic equipment, they already have nice stats and I don't see the need to level them up at 0.1% at a time.
When it comes to might points, relics will give you the most, so make sure you change over most of your commanders and castellans to relics but also have a fire castellan saved in storage.

The Relic equipment doesn't give any reduction in cooldown on NPC towers like the original Nutcracker does.
It doesn't give as much flank and no extra on the front like some Unique sets do.
No bonus Sammy or Nomad tablets or Khan Rage
Heroes have to be swapped for each individual event and there is none for plain old NPC towers
Gems are either NPC or PvP so you are having to build distinct sets (and yes some unique sets are specific too but we complained when they started to become event specific)
One really useful feature of Unique sets was having multiple identical sets so presets were easy to set; I defy anyone to have two identical Relic sets.
Swapping out relic sets is a real pain because it is all so random you can remove it from one comm or cast and then have to rummage around in your inventory trying to find the right pieces again
The list goes on!
I am not saying that the Relic equipment is below par; merely that it is not the be all and end all of equipment - at least not yet! I still use a mixture of Relic and Unique comms and casts, and have yet to be persuaded that I should bin all my old Unique sets. Definitely won't be binning my speed/zero cost commanders for stationing and support. And the fire/loot casts will remain available too.
