Yep,but remember that Tolkien mentioned fire dragons during in the Silimarilion chapter About Tuor and fall of Gondolin.

Im not saying that there weren't dragons, im saying that they didnt have WINGS. Ancalagon was the first dragon with wings. All dragons before him including Glaurung had no wings.
Another thing I just realized is that all named dragons have been killed by men not a single one was killed by an elf or dwarf.
