Hey everyone,

Sometimes, players report that their accounts have been hacked, or that they’ve been receiving suspicious messages from players asking for personal information such as their passwords. I thought I’d make this post to help keep you guys safer out there in the world of Empire.

Safe Passwords and Account Sharing

Having a safe password is super crucial to keeping your account safe and sound. Of course, your password should be memorable, but try to follow these tips for enhanced security with choosing a password:

• Try to use a combination of letters and numbers
• Capitalise random letters in the password
• Don’t use common words, or words that are easily relatable to you
• Create a random phrase or combination of words
• Try not to use the same password for everything
• If you’re struggling to come up with a password, or are looking for a super safe password, you can find some great password generators and checkers online!

When it comes to Account Sharing, as you all know, this is against our Terms and Conditions, and as such there’s nothing that we can do about accounts that have been ‘hacked’ through this method, or through having an easy to guess password. The safety of your account data is your own responsibility, so make sure you follow the above tips!

Community Managers, GGS Staff and Private Information

Recently, we’ve had reports of players imitating members of GGS Staff, such as myself, in order to try and phish account information from our players. Please remember:

• GGS Staff will never contact you via in-game mail
• The only people that will ever request your password will be our Support Team, and even then they will only contact you through the official e-mail ticket system.
• Anyone else, such as myself, will never request your private information or passwords
• Although we do play the game, none of our Staff members will be visible, or reveal themselves in-game.

Follow the above and together we can keep Empire a safer, more secure place for everyone!
