Hey everyone,
It's come to our attention that we've had some issues with the extension of Kala's Contest on Friday evening, resulting in points not being contributed towards the event after the extension. I'd like to let you know that the team are aware of the problem, and are currently figuring out the best course of action. Of course, I'll keep you posted about the progress as things occur.
There's also a couple of key points that have cropped up in the threads that I'd like to address here;
Why extend the contest in the first place?
As you may have noticed, Kala's Contest was scheduled to run shorter than the other Long Term Point Events. We realised that leaving it this way, the event would end during the Foreign Invaders event, rather than giving players the full time to finish the event, whilst getting Kala's Contest points at the same time. I realise that this is an inconvenience for some players that may have been going for the top positions, but overall it should have given everyone more time to earn their rewards.
How come nothing has been done yet?
The problem occurred after 5pm on a Friday. If we'd been aware prior to this, I assure you that we would've stayed behind to resolve the problem, however, being that it was Friday, most people had prior engagements to attend to, appointments, family etc. It's not a case of knowing/not wanting to do anything, but a case of not being aware/able to do so in a timely manner. Situations like this require a fair amount of manpower, and members of different departments to resolve, so today we'll come together and reach a resolution.
I appreciate that this is a highly frustrating situation, but I'd like to thank you for your patience as we work towards resolving the issue. We'll keep you informed as soon as we have some more information, and if there's anything in particular that you'd like to discuss regarding this announcement, feel free to contact me directly.
