If that would happen why should anyone ever attack anyone , if someone is online and you are a high level player have fun running into 100k+ defences and loosing a flank so you loose like 3.000 attackers and kill 1.2k at best.twilightdragon (US1) said:things should be adjusted so attacks can only be at those online. cant learn or get experince at defending if im not here lol.but im only lv26 a non coiner.

Given there is no support should be easier for most players I'd have thought. Interesting to know how players support themselves as even that might not be possible.

i would say more like 10k-15k def because players only need that much to defend a large attack, unless it is a incredible commander and only the best troops in game. Never would u need 100k at one time
Also what if you have like 30+ fully loaded attacks coming at you that is 80k+ of attackers then you need 100k+ and in war sending multiple hits at the same castle does happen.

There is no honor or glory involved, but their will be rewards though that Goodgame Studios I am guessing will probably go into more detail later and possibly by next month in December before the January update. We won't get loot from the attacks.... but I'm pretty sure the event will run alongside other event, like nomads, samurais, etc.

The event will probably start in the next 2 monthsPretty sure you'll be able to attack and be attacked in protection mode - as you don't damage players when you attack - and aren't damaged when you defend.

They are also castle lords though which if I remember correctly you can not attack Foreigners or Bloodcrows either while under protection mode and they can not attack you either. You might know more about the event than I do because of you being a mod, but just saying from previous experience I remember not being able to attack Foreigners or Bloodcrows while under protection mode possibly because they are castle lords instead of NPC which means that protection mode is not limited to only just pvp. It is worth clarifying the protection mode issue. As if players have paid or paid for protection mode and it doesn't work for this event meaning they are drawn into competing when on holiday for example they aren't likely to be too pleased. It would also effect the scoring as from what you've said the if attacks aren't defended attackers score more. In terms of that can you clarify what steps have been taken to prevent players agreeing to fix the results. Yes I get it is in theory anonymous but say Player A is playing multiple accounts and they drawn themselves in the contest what's to stop them from throwing a defence to up their and their alliances score. Given the Alliance tournament was effectively fixed which was why it was withdrawn and given the scale of cheating discovered by GGE (3 million instances) for our reassurance and to encourage us to play flat out and spend on the event which given the graphics actually looks better than described it would really help to know we have enough of a level playing field to at least have a semblance of a chance of competing with the cheats. It does actually look good and walkthrough helps with screenshots. But if it's just another event where we can't compete fairly and where rules aren't enforced there wouldn't be much point as it does look fairly well put together.
Couple of things I'd like to know more about how does the matchmaking work is it by alliance or by player level. Player level is fairer as otherwise strong players who've stayed loyal to smaller alliances would be penalised particularly alliance leaders or founders. Secondly will ratings be reviewed and reset in the second and subsequent rounds to reflect actual performance. Given relative account strength changes how has that been built into the system? Thirdly are you only allowed one attack on a castle at one time as in general terms attacks are coordinated on strong castles with multiple attacks hitting at the same time in war. So can we use feints to pull defence or force set up adjustments and can one send more than one attack on one castle at one time.
What I think might be particularly interesting with this looking at it now is that using a weak commander to beat a stronger castle through skill could potentially be worth more points than simply flaying an opponent with an Elementalist. So simply having multiple supers might not be enough to rock this event which actually would be a very interesting twist. As designed this actually seems much better than I thought. So if players allow it to be could be good big if given past track record but there is always hope.
I didn't think the explanation of hard mode was great it would be good if that and the reductions could be explained or at least discussed to help clarify what that actually meant. Design is as ever really strong though and I think I might have prematurely misjudged this one.
