Great tournament was a glory tournament in which the player who got the most glory won and got a bunch of rewards.

Alliance tournament was the same but it was alliance competing. Also good rewards.

The problem is that alliances would stack low-quality D at a player's castle and take off tools/casty so that another player could send a planned attack and get loads of glory for the alliance without really doing PvP.
