Dear Community,
Today we want to address the current status of our HTML5 development.
We saw in our community throughout the last few weeks, that more and more questions surfaced about the upcoming HTML5 version.
We want to assure you that there will be a release of an Empire HTML5 version this year! Our game Goodgame BigFarm is already live with an HTML5 version, in the current transition phase the players have the option to select between Flash and HTML5 to allow us to check what actually worked out well and where we needed to adjust it a little bit more, to have it run smoothly on different browsers and to provide you with a fluent and solid gameplay experience (no lags, no stuttering, etc.). BigFarm’s HTML5 version has already seen great improvements compared to Flash and early versions within the first weeks.
At this very moment, we are testing a first Empire HTML5 version. Currently, a release for an Empire HTML5 version is planned before the end of this year, most likely in November. As in BigFarm, we will offer two options to play your game, one with the current Flash engine and the other one with HTML5. So you will be able to choose between those two versions. Here is an example screenshot from Big Farm where you can see that option (selection option highlighted by red square):
We want to thank all of you for your patience and we will keep you updated on any news about the HTML5 topic in this thread, in our comment section.
Best regards,
Your Empire Family
