[5085608] Crom Cruach [Community Manager] :: Oct. 2, 2019, 9:01 a.m.

Gold Coin You wake up. It is a morning like any other, yet the first thing to greet you is a messenger of the Royal Court who hastily pushes through your loyal servants that were guarding the room. Your request for him to explain his behavior is met by a quickly stretched out hand holding a pamphlet with the royal seal on it. “There’s no time! You must read my lord!”, the messenger insists.

Breaking the royal seal you immediately unfold the pamphlet only to be greeted by the writing of Inkfingers, the King’s Scribe. Hastily you begin to read:

“My lord commander,

With the cosmic potential of the Relic Equipment unlocked it is now time to strike back at the Invaders, more fiercely than ever before. Ready your armies for as soon as dawn strikes as not only does your duty to defend hearth and home call you to arms but our latest spy reports indicate that the enemies are in possession of treasures, which were thought to be lost in the first conflicts of ages gone - the mythical Gold and Silver Pieces have once again been spotted by mortal eyes!

It is your ultimate most goal to obtain as many of these as possible! This can either be done by the obvious tasks at hand: Loot the invading forces such as the barbaric tribes of the Nomads, the unrelenting legions of the Bloodcrows and other such forces of dangerous invaders, in order to receive the Pieces! Yet rumors have it that the much rarer Gold Pieces can also be obtained by engaging in the long term festivities, such as the currently celebrated Lotus King Festival!

The King has already sent forth his stonemasons and trades people in order to establish some shops that will offer you certain rewards, in exchange of the Silver and Gold Pieces, of course!

The Silver Shop will provide you with additional troops and tools for your armies, fusion materials - such as dust, catalysts, fusion decorations and more - magical hourglasses which will help you bend the laws of time and reality in order to skip the process of erecting your buildings and much more! Oh and to top that all of: You’ll be able to exchange your silver pieces into Gold Pieces as well!

The Gold Shop, on the other hand, will predominantly provide you with unique equipment pieces as well as full sets of unique equipment. But you’ll also find construction items as well as zodiac decorations in this shop and it will indeed offer some of the other rewards such as troops and tools as well.

As offers go, there’s a certain limit of purchase to some rewards of both shops (like troops for example), but don’t fret: The shop’s stocks will be resupplied after a certain period of time has passed.

Details:

As you have read above we are currently about to make a big change to our event rewards. Like we did recently with our Long Term Point Event we will be removing rewards from all of our events and replacing them with a currency: Gold Pieces. These will be redeemable at a special event camp for prizes.

We will also introduce Silver Pieces which will be awarded in place of smaller levels of achievement.

Tablets and Tokens will remain in the game as will the tents where you can spend them. All other rewards will be removed with some small exceptions and replaced with Gold and Silver coins

You will be able to spend the coins accrued for the new event rewards. There will be caps on the amount of most of the things you can buy.

The prize progression is now linear rather than its previous more chaotic progression. One you pass the second reward tier you will earn a higher cumulative values worth of rewards than previously.

The following events will be changed for player of level 60+:

This change will come on the 8th of October.

Eye of newt, and toe of frog, wool of bat, and tongue of dog, adder's fork, and blind-worm's sting, lizard's leg, and owlet's wing, for a charm of powerful trouble, like a hell-broth boil and bubble. Halloween is soon upon the Kingdom and its spooky visitors can already be found in the Realms today.

Brave Warriors,
We have deployed the incorrect version of the Gold and Silver shop. Rather than deploy the version with the improvements we announced yesterday we have inadvertently deployed the test version without the improvements. This has a run time of 23 days. As this is intrinsically linked to all the events within that period we are unable to shut it down without causing havoc to currently running events and scheduled events in the next few days. Therefore we have taken the decision to let it run as it is.

We apologise deeply for the mistake made today.

With a heavy heart,

Your Empire Family

Beyond the Horizon

The sound of the jungle is deafening as your party cuts its way through the shadowed undergrowth. It seems impossible to keep a path open for long as the voracious plants eagerly compete to claim any space amidst the tangled wilderness. Yet people manage not only to live here but to thrive. A vast but primitive civilization has built great cities of stone and timber, tall altars to unknown gods and profane altars to sinister deities. You can claim this as your own despite the verdant labyrinth.

In this exciting event you will be competing with your alliance to acquire and hold INFLUENCE. The winners will be the alliance that has the highest influence at the end of the event. It is not going to be a simple task however as enemy alliances will be competing to gain this too and they will be attempting to plunder yours. To join your account will need to be level thirty or above. You will also need to be a member of an Alliance before the event starts. You will not be able to join an alliance later and take part in the event.

Influence

Each player will start the event with 25,000 influence. You will gain more by conquering City States on the World Map. When you conquer a City State you will trigger a timer. After eight hours you will have acquired all the influence possible from the City State and this will then be transferred directly back to your Castle. Your troops will then also return. All transfers of Influence are automatic and immediate. You do not need to send it anywhere.

While you are gathering Influence from a City State it can be attacked and conquered by another player. This does not reset the timer for gathering Influence and therefore close to the time that the Influence will be transferred from your City State will likely come under attack from your rivals.

Once the Influence has been transferred, the City State will be removed from the map. This means that the total number of City States will be reducing over the course of the event. Influence will slowly become harder and harder to acquire forcing you to look to your rivals to gain more.

Now that you have Influence in your Castle other players will be able to attack you directly to plunder a portion of your Influence, of course the same applies to you and if you want you can attack someone directly to plunder a portion of their hard earned Influence. Your Influence will be transferred daily to the vaults in your Alliance Capital for safe keeping.

It is important to distinguish that there are two types of influence. The first consists of both Influence in your Castle and that which you gather from City States and we will refer to these as Player Influence. The second is that which is stored in the Alliance Capital we will refer to as Alliance Influence.

When you attack another player you will plunder a portion of their Influence and this becomes Player Influence. When you attack an Alliance Capital you will also plunder a portion of the Influence stored there. This also then becomes Player Influence meaning you have to hold onto it before it gets transferred to your Alliance Capital.

The winning Alliance will be the Alliance with the most Influence at the end of the event. Player Influence not yet transported on the final day of the event will be converted into Alliance Influence as the event ends.

Alliances

Alliances are the heartsblood of the event. When you start Beyond the Horizon you will be placed in an Alliance, the members of which will be drawn from your Alliance in your main account. However Alliances in the event have a maximum of twenty places. Therefore once the first Alliance is filled a second and eventually a third will open allowing up to sixty members to join. These smaller event Alliances will operate independently of each other in Beyond the Horizon and will be awarded prizes based on their performance alone.

The first player to join will be made the Alliance Leader and will be solely responsible for the Alliance Capital. Therefore it would be wise to make sure that you organize amongst yourselves who joins and in what order. The 21st and 41st players will in turn become leaders of the second and third alliances.

If your Alliance in the main account has the full sixty five members then the final five will be placed into an alliance with only five members.

Observation Towers

There are observation towers to be found around the World Map. Capturing and holding these will be key to your strategy. These provide bonuses when attacking City States and when attacking Alliance Capitals. However, the jungle is an ever changing place and Observation Towers soon become choked with vines and blocked by trees. When this happens they will be removed from the map.

Altars

You will find Altars in the City States you capture. These can be upgraded and will reduce the time you need to gather the influence from that City State. Clever use of these can deceive your opponents and foil their attempts to capture the City State!

Cultist Shrine

On the World Map you will eventually come across Cultist Shrines. These profane edifices have seen generations of sacrifice and death. You will be able to attack and kill the natives that hold them. You will gain rewards and experience for attacking the Shrines and these will level up after each attack. The higher the level the more occupiers you will need to defeat but also the more rewards you get for their defeat.

Please feel free to post any feedback HERE!

Ahoy Sailors! Get aboard your ships and sail with me on the Shearwater Beyond the Horizon. We are bound for the Tangled Wilderness. Stow your anchors, raise your sails and scrub the decks!

Regards,

Cap'n Redbeard Drake

Today we also want to announce two very new and rather exclusive buildings to you. We have the Relic Bakeryand the Relic Storehouse. These are currently only available from the Beyond the Horizon event and you'll have to compete there to gain them. Not only that but the better you do in the event the higher the level they will have as rewards. Yes you heard me right! You won't have to level these up at all if you and your crew can do well enough in the event. We certainly hope that you will like this unique twist to the event rewards.

We will pause the Beyond the Horizon event at 12:00. We are doing this to increase the server capacity to reduce lag and log in times. This will be a short downtime for the Beyond the Horizon server only.

Hey all,

There will be one more quick downtime! This one should be short!

Thanks for your patience.

[5080895] Crom Cruach [Community Manager] :: Oct. 26, 2019, 10:43 a.m.
Brave Warriors,
Curently moving castles in Beyond the Horizon is not working as intended. You should not move your castle for any reason as doing so will most likely result in you no longer being able to partake in the event.
For those of you that are now unable to play due to this I can only say that we are looking into the problem but we will not be able to offer a solution before Monday at the earliest. Our apologies for the inconvienience and please note that as this is a known issue there is no need to contact Customer Support.

Lords and Ladies,
As you are likely well aware we have had a few teething problems with the Beyond the Horizon event. I would like to take a few moments to explain what the problems are and to offer some potential mitigation. Unless stated otherwise below there is no need to contact Customer Support as we know about the issue and are working on fixes.

Thank you for your patience while we work out the kinks in our latest event.

New Tutorial + Tutorial Character

Across the realms of the Great Empire, Winter’s cold embrace can be felt by all of its subjects. Evermore is it choking the sun as the season’s change, slowly dragging the realms into unrelenting darkness as day after day goes by. A darkness that’s mirrored in the arrogance of the unjust robber barons of this once righteous kingdom. Yet… a glimpse of hope looms on the horizon. A hero that burns as bright as the sun. One that will never stop lighting the honorable path of old for all people that have been wronged by the robber barons.
She will be our savior, our blade that cuts us free from the tyrannic grip of King Eric and his schemings. She, together with her band of Wildland Rebels and the aid of a daring and brave commander yet to be found, will free this land once and for all.

Will you be that commander? Will you join the Wildland Rebels in the Revolution?

Added subscription bonus: Wishing well coins

Another new subscription bonus will be added to one of the subscription packages.
This will be a gift in the form of Wishing well coins, which you’ll receive once a month while being subscribed to the respective subscription.

You will get a notification about this monthly subscription gift via your player’s mailbox and it will just be a confirmation as the gift will be automatically added to your inventory.

Time Skips

We have revised the number of Time Skips available in the Silver Shop. Before you could buy 75 hours worth of Time Skips. We have, based on your feedback, increased this to 275 hours in total. This will be made up of 25 packages of 30 minute skips and 15 packages of 1 hour skips.

Reduction of offer pop-ups

There will be a reduction in the number of pop-ups being displayed in the game! We will only be displaying, for the time being, Prime Time related offers. Again this is based on your feedback.

Architect + Researcher

There will be permanent changes coming to both the Architect and Researcher:
Whereas you had to wait for them to appear in your castle before, now you will be able to do everything that you only could do with their help, on your own! This means that they will retire and won’t ever appear in your castle again since you will be able to do just fine without their help and upgrade whenever you want to!
