I have a question about this "new option"
I haven't tested this but it refers to Watchtowers.
If I use a "Slow Down" for 200 Rubies - does it result in a Watchtower picking me up earlier than normal? Similar to a Boulder attack?

If so, how is this different to using a Boulder? Other than another shameless attempt by GGE to extract $$$ from players

It's part greedy sham, part dumbing down the game so it requires even less skill than it already does. It's the bastard child of my least favorite maneuvers by GGS to get people to spend more. A blessing for those who fail at clocks and/or operate an army of multis doe.Graylen (AU1) said:AKA

I don't think it's much different from using a boulder, aside from being able to actually choose the time and the cost.
200 rubies is pretty cheap, and I think it's more likely to save me money than cost me money.

Its massively different that the boulder... Using the boulder means you get detected long time before you land.
Using the 'Slow Down' Method means your detected at the EXACT same time as if you sent using a fast feather.
- Its a stolen Idea used in another game to assist multiple players joining together to hit one target.
Once landed with 'Slow down; it returns in the same amount of time it would normally - so if you happen to be on at 4am - and some randomer has set a incoming for then..Just shit back and take out attackers.
Not found a use for it yet. Honour stealing maybe?

That's cool. If I'm ever hitting someone I don't want to defend that can be useful. Usually I want them to be nice and slow so lots of troops show up to defend. Yeah if the cost of 200 rubies is a better option you can land at a precise time and return as quick as you normally do.

But seems not the be the way for glory . Not seen it used effectively yet. I am sure it will come though.

If you have 5-6 multi accounts you can be even more deadly with free event horrors. Shame really, Franks for the most part put work into TIMING masses etc, always respected those efforts. Now you can jump on the dead accounts and use them to send attacks as well in advance and you get them to participate sending full speed so those masses will be even bigger.
So if im a patato whale with more money than brains. I can buy bulk demons, send them all out with my army of comms and get the exact same landing time for $200 rubies and do it all 3 hours in advance etc etc. It's something to remove the skill from the game and give multi masters more capacity to cause havok. IE: whose that contorl multiple accounts and are fked in the head enough to buy demons on all the accounts.

Reality is, as much as GGE wont ever admit it. Great accounts get built up and palmed off when players quit. They will tell us that they are doing something about it etc etc but they never will while their is money being spent on those accounts.
I've got my views on a few of the updates and how stupid they are from a cash perspective....
* reduction in coins, hurt reso players but also hurts GGE.... virtually no-one ruby techs stuff at the technicus. Its unheard of. Yet if people had an abundance of coins they could tech the forry / berri / everything comms and castas we are getting from events ALOT faster.
Once people have all those comms and castas teched up they will send more attacks buying more armorer tools etc etc.
So the beleif that more people would be low on coin hence ruby tech stuff (I cant think of any other reason to lower coins from sammys and nomads) is actually counter productive in terms of income that GGE get. Flow on effects, people want those comms maxxed etc before sending full attacks with them. GGE earn less cash from tools being purchased.
A few others that to me I've looked at a little further down the line and just thought how short sighted or narow minded an update is. GGE really go off data however every aspect of the game effects others etc etc and in the end as a game that generates revenue for them I can see a few things where they are not big picture changes.
GGE gotta make cash off us all I get that, but the changes they have made on a few things are not long term changes IMO.
Really sad with the way a few things are being done atm, both in game from a players perspective with players and alliances actions and from a developers perspective where I cant agree with their choices.
