I lost... MY 100,..... however.... barbarian tower.... lost ALL their soldiers...... SAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaay WHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAT?!

other option is have really good wall reduction in that case for npcs, which the yule grinner would give me in that case most likely. but always use tools for what is left of the wall, gate, and moat (if any).

Spy first, then use tools for gates and/or walls depending if it is needed or not and depending on what commander you are using, and lastly use wooden mantlets if the defenses from a tower or rbc (robber baron castle) that is at a decent level at least level 30 and also has ranged defense and/or ranged attackers to reduce casualties. (But do not use any mantlets if the tower or rbc does not have any ranged from the espionage report or at a really low level.) Also, some NPC commanders especially if leveled up like the Fortunes of the Desert Sands, Headsman Summoning, and etc. might reduce wall protection and/or gate protection to 0 which would require no ladders and/or rams to attack a tower or rbc (but not to be confused with "Castle Lord" commanders and heroes which may not be as practical against NPC as NPC commanders such as the Foreign Warlord and The Invader for example and others) and depending on the level of the tower or rbc you can also reduce tools to 0 from a tower or rbc by using only one solder and no tools for the first one to three waves. Towers and rbc have to be a really high level though before it is required that you use three waves as well to burn all of the tools and two waves required to burn all tools for level 40 or higher. (No tools from a tower or rbc means that you do not have to use as many tools, ladders, and gates after a certain number of waves burning up tools.)

So I get spammed just for giving helpful advise on a Barbararian tower of how to reduce casualties from a player who has years of experience at this game. The question is why? The point is to minimize casualties and the need of using tools as much as possible and if possible use 90/90 commanders with high wall and gate bonuses as well. If you do not have that yet or your best commanders for NPC are unavailable because of them being busy then use the best you have available. I was intending to help PrincessAbigail and especially since you seem to be new to this game. Whether you want to listen to my helpful advise or not is up to you. If someone is annoyed by my comments by flagging me despite me trying to help I won't comment any further on this thread, but people should not be flagging for apparently no reason either.
