GGE have not given me a mercenary post i wouldn't have noticed this if i didn't play 2 servers
i emailed gge and the reply i got was this

Thank you for your message, unfortunately AB tests are fairly common practice and we do not give compensation to those players who take part in them.
why couldn't they have tested this out on there employers lots of them play the game, or at least asked some of the players
we are customers all of us and our experience on the game should be there number 1 priority they shouldn't test on there customers

the fact that i dont have a mercenary post outside my castle like everyone els so i cant get lucky pennies cheep tools etc etc without opening my wallet
