I'am now able to unlock the storm islands but my alliance members say its a waste of time, coins and resources so can I please get the pro's and con's for the storm islands, so I can deicide whether to do it or not

Sounds like you need a better alliance. the storm islands is a group project for your alliance. however, its the same level difficulty for each alliance, meaning weaker alliances will have a harder time trying to get rewards from it. if you alliance can get enough points, you get tons of coins and rubies for the alliance funds (alliance funds, not members)
if you wish to join by yourself, you can still get aqua, and then use that aqua to buy prizes instead. it is only a waste if your unable to gain aqua with few losses of your troops.

You'll wanna have a good amount of wood/stone/food spared it green to send quickly to Storm.
If you're alliance is really good in nomads, I also recommend you save skips to use there,

storm Island is a wast unless your a rube spender = (low IQ) really!!!!
and the others like Ice, Sand and Fire are only good to farm troops at a slow rate, RV are impossible to get ( all 70 level ) on any of them, I just build them up as far as I can for Ep and when that runs out, I will destroy the buildings one by one and build mines groves until I have enough, all with out spending or buying any rubs ( will take longer but that what they are betting on that you won't have the patience and therefor, buy and build with rubes) Don't be impatience and you won't spend rubes or money on rubes, these places Ice fire and sand are not worth spending any rubes on.
The game itself need an over hull of its game inter-activeness and option if it going to last or it will end up like Farm vill
overall I give this a 7 game play 6 game map option Ice,Sand, Fire 5
Nomad 4 ( what do you get for losing at lease 1/3 of you troops every time you attack\ Low resource \ no H points\ no G points\ high coin)
The coin you get is not worth it if you lose rube troops; and we all know what coin are only good for
Underworld, 3 ect,ect ect wast of time (unless that is all you do all day every day or if you don't have the time Rubes, rubes ,rubes!!!) because they have a time limit and people have lives; at least some of do!!
Foreign Castle 8 about the only battle most players wait for/ unless its PvP if not for that this game would not last and that may still happen if another similar better inter-active game-play with better attack and defending option for one, better movement of item between castle and outpost ( after all I own them and I should be able to move even my shit-house if I wanted to from one out-post to castle and back to outpost )
Enough for Now

Storm Islands and the other realms can be done without ruby buying and fairly easily if you apply a little strategy and make any effort to be active. Just because you lack those things doesn't mean that they can only be done if you buy "rubes". EW, BS, FP are the best places to be if your not a rubie player..... you can farm rubies like a maniac over their....
ANYWAY.....
SKINK, Storm islands their are many ways to play, you can play with rubies or reso, this is up to you. I would recomend playign reso and not bothing with the islands or the rubie spending on harbour etc etc
Playing reso you sack the islands with 3 waves (when your lvl 50 i think you can do this) for the small reso islands and much the same for the lower lvl forts.
Until then being a lvl 35 odd you can ship aqua and on the AU1 server different alliances will have people in who have shipped aqua at the end of storm to bump their score up to over 200k aqua, generally the entyry price is 10k shipped or about that. If doing storm this round and you have 10k shipped msg one of the alliances leading or close to 200k and ask them to come across for the end of SI to get the rewards.
BTW, I dont remember your alliance ever being second in nomads in any of the last 2 or 3 nomad events... just saying
