Many of you have been receiving this error when attacking FCs and RBCs and any npc target in general:
When I analyze this problem, consider this example: the last FC I attacked was level 52, but now I want to attack a level 44 FC, pictured below:
I spy it and then choose to attack it using the usual method by going to the castle, clicking on it, then clicking the bullseye to set up the attack:
Then I get to the battle setup and see that it thinks I am attacking a level 52 FC (notice the same castle coordinates in the pictures.
After using my method the next time i try to attack, I get the correct level and flank information:
I was having the issue with FCs as well as RBCs and barbarian towers. What happens is the game seems to remember data from your previous attacks and keeps the flank and front numbers and slots data for higher level enemies when you are attacking lower level enemies. If you attack a higher level enemy than your previous attack, however, this issue does not occur. It will happen every time you attack a lower level castle, unfortunately. To get around this, I have a few steps that work.
FIRST: you must first spy your enemy.
SECOND: you must go to the castle that you spied and click on the espionage report.
THIRD: click the bullseye in the report that has the numbers and types of troops listed.
FOURTH: set up your attack as usual.
I have found that even if you spy a castle, the error can still occur if you just attack without going through the spy report: Do not use this bullseye to attack, or you will encounter the error.
It sucks that we have to go through such effort to play the game as it should be played, but this method surely works, it also seems to work if you attack through the spy reports in your message system:

Hey @mooseymoose (INT1) Thanks a lot for this breakdown, it is very well done! I am sure many players will find this helpful. Believe me, I am constantly asking for updates regarding this issue. I will keep you all updated as I get more information.
