HI I would like to know what kind of commanders I should have. I know there are a few threads about this exact question, but they seem to be outdated so I wanted to know the types I should have e.g balanced attack wall..

I'd go with a couple of commanders with ranged strength and wall reduction as priority and keep hitting rbc / barbarian towers over and over. Getting better equipment and coin from rbc towers and events is key at that stage. Don't worry so much about the best pvp setup yet.
Another good option is a high melee and high speed commander, so you can launch hounds quickly to capture rvs in outer kingdoms.
If you're nearer to level 70 and fighting other players your level, then having a commander or two with high ranged and melee is important. So is wall / moat reduction (gate can be too, but fewer people defend the middle).
Some utility commanders a lot of people enjoy:
1. 90 ranged with +loot find bonus for hitting towers (better chance for legendary items)
2. 90 melee with max speed (for using hounds to get rvs)
3. 90 ranged with max stealth and/or speed (for swift hits on people before they can get support)
4. 90 ranged with +resource loot (it adds up!)
5. Anything with max speed, so you can send support to allies timely.

Yeah Manatee covered them all but another commander worth getting, is a reduce travel costs, that can be useful.
