Hi everyone.
I wanted to suggest that GGE update the amount of threads to be available on the Alliance Board.
There are many things that newcomers need to remember or get to know, and an alliance may want to plan certain things ahead. A maximum of 10 threads on the alliance board simply isn't enough to accommodate such vital communication.
I suggest raising the maximum amount of threads to 20. This, in my opinion, does not sound like an impossible demand.
Then there is the issue of the amount of replies that are available PER thread. 20 Is definitely not enough. As a member of my alliance's leadership, I often encounter many occasions wherein a discussion that is vital to Alliance planning simply bumps into the 20 reply mark. This means that somebody has to delete their own message, as leadership members can't delete each other's replies. The fact that they are unable to delete these is very reasonable. But when not every single person is active at the same time as every other person in the alliance, important messages or topics simply need to hold on until either the leader or the person responsible for the reply removes the comment.
This is pretty frustrating, to be honest.
Furthermore, it has already been suggested in other threads, that the ability to edit a comment on the board be included. Spelling errors or miscommunication often result in comments or replies being less than satisfactory.
Lastly, there is the issue of the amount of characters. Not only is there no way to see how many characters you have already used up in a single reply or comment, there is also no way to see the LIMIT. As I have experienced, this invisible limit is also far too low.
Personal mails to players have a maximum amount of 1300 characters. I find that this is often enough (though still not completely perfect, and for foreign languages, it is especially frustrating to find that some words can't be typed, yet there is no list of available "bad" words.). That this is not the case for threads and replies on the alliance board, is understandable, in my opinion. However, the maximum amount of characters for the board could definitely be increased. Right now, it is almost ridiculously low.
Take this with the very low amount of maximum replies, and a single person will have to use up 4-5 replies in order to make a proper point. That's a fourth of the entire available reply limit!
Please remember that there are often newcomers who have to learn everything from scratch, and that not everything can simply be put in a mail and send to every single person within an alliance. Sometimes, this could very well result into players receiving a ridiculous amount of mails, which, in all honesty, are probably not read, exactly due to their immense amount. And it's not like the people responsible for new recruits have the stamina or the time to send vital information via several mails to every single new recruit. Especially if one considers that some new players are simply NOT interested in being a team player.
Let's say, however, that new recruits are willing to contribute, then they will actively want to read the threads on the Alliance board. Having a maximum of 10 topics, a maximum of 20 replies, no visible limit of characters and no way to determine how many you have left, and no editing button, all result in a vast amount of communication that is lost, ignored, misunderstood, stalled, or becomes useless after a few updates.
A proper update regarding these issues could result into easier communication, less time wasted, better adaptation for newcomers, and overall better alliance planning, understanding, and appreciation.
Thank you for the time you took in reading this.
